From Cobra Kai to Stranger Things: Netflix TV Shows Ending in 2025

It is a year of big goodbyes for fans of Netflix shows. Two of the most popular shows on Netflix and across streamers, Stranger Things and Squid Game, are wrapping up in 2025. Fans will also miss other favorite shows like Cobra Kai which began streaming episodes of its final season in 2024.

Most of the shows in this list will leave with a proper ending. Hopefully, Netflix won’t cancel as many shows as it did in 2024. However, there is speculation among fans that shows like FUBAR, The Recruit, and Supacell might get the axe from the streamer in 2025.

9 Cobra Kai

The last batch of episodes of the three-part Cobra Kai finale will drop on Netflix on February 13. The creators decided to split the sixth and final season of the series into three parts of five episodes each. The first part debuted in July 2024, while the second set dropped in November.

The series continues to be a fan favorite. It was critically acclaimed for its writing, performances, and character development over the six seasons. The second part ending was a shocker as we witnessed a fatal injury in the Sekai Taikai. Fans are eager to see what holds for the series finale, particularly with Karate Kid: Legends looming around the corner.

8 Big Mouth

The eighth and final season of Netflix’s longest-running sitcom, Big Mouth, was initially expected to arrive in 2024. The adult animated series was renewed for its concluding season in April 2023. However, the latest update reveals that the show will now premiere in 2025, though an exact release date is yet to be announced.

Big Mouth first debuted in 2017 and quickly became a fan favorite. Created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett, the series draws inspiration from Kroll and Goldberg’s student life in suburban New York. The central characters are named after them. Fans who have followed the show from the start will be sad to see the coming-of-age comedy go.

7 Mo

Mo Amer’s eponymous series premiered its first season way back in 2022. Netflix renewed the comedy-drama for a second and final season back in January 2023. The finale of Mo will hit the streamer by the end of this month on January 30.

The series created by Amer and Ramy Youssef is based on the former’s life as a Palestinian refugee living in the United States. It holds a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and is a seriously underrated series. All the acclaim for the series goes to its premise as well as the portrayal of the growing ethnic diversity in Houston, Texas.

6 Heartbreak High

This teen drama comes all the way from Australia and is a soft reboot of the 1994 series of the same name. It premiered in 2022 and was renewed for a second season the following month. Season 2 of Heartbreak High premiered in April 2024. A third and final season is set to be released this year.

The ensemble cast of youngsters in the series includes Ayesha Madon, Thomas Weatherall, Bryn Chapman Parish, and Asher Yasbincek. They play students at Hartley High who navigate their teen life, exploring romance and even some serious themes like racial tensions.

5 The Upshaws

Wanda Sykes co-created and starred in this sitcom which also co-stars Mike Epps and Kim Fields. The Upshaws first debuted in May 2021 and was renewed for a second season, which was released in two parts of eight episodes each in June 2022 and February 2023 respectively.

The third season was also released in two parts of six episodes each, premiering in December 2023 and June 2024. A fourth season dropped on the platform on January 9, 2025. A fifth season, or part 7, will premiere sometime later in 2025 and will serve as the final season of the series.

4 Blood of Zeus

Created and written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, Blood of Zeus first premiered on Netflix in 2020. Formerly titled Gods & Heroes, the animations of the series were done by South Korean studios Mua Film and Hanho Heung-Up.

A second season of the adult animated show premiered in May 2024 and a third and final season will be released in 2025. The series centers around Heron, the demigod son of Zeus, who tries to save Olympus and Earth.

Penn Badgley‘s love-it-or-hate-it serial killer drama returns to Netflix for a final showdown in 2025. The fifth and final season of You was announced in March 2023 but the production took longer than expected with the Hollywood strikes in between. Badgley himself was often disgusted by the scenes he had to film for the dark series.

You, based on Caroline Kepnes’s novel series of the same name, first debuted on Lifetime in 2018. Netflix took up the series from its second season onwards. The fourth season was released in two parts in 2023. Badgley took on a new avatar of his serial killer character, posing as Jonathan Moore.

2 Squid Game

Emmy-winning actor Lee Jung-jae will return for his final face-off against The Front Man in Season 3 of the survival thriller show. The cliffhanger climax of Season 2 meant that things would get bloodier in this final season. Squid Game first premiered on Netflix in September 2021. The second season arrived late, dropping three years later on December 26, 2024.

The third season will have a faster turnaround time than the second season and will arrive on the streamer in 2025 itself. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk shared that the third season was shot back-to-back with Season 2 (via THR). He also told the outlet that he was nearly done with the editing portion of season three.

1 Stranger Things

One of the streamer’s flagship series is coming to an end. Stranger Things will end its highly anticipated run after five seasons. The series received record viewership and became one of the most popular shows ever. The series paid homage to the 1980s and adopted the cultural elements in its entirety while showing sci-fi horror at its best.

The first season dropped way back in 2016 and a fourth season was released in two parts in 2022. The fifth season took some time before it began production and fans recently learned that the filming of the series wrapped. Fans would get to see Milly Bobby Brown & team in their last adventure together in 2025.
