One of Scott Wolf’s most defining roles saw the actor enter NCIS as special ops operative Jonathan Cole. Speaking with TV Insider, Wolf talked about how the first scene that he shot stayed with him, especially because of how violent it was.
Scott Wolf might have played a seasoned operative, who could have heard thousands and thousands of rounds being shot, but in reality, the actor had never shot a gun, which is something that led to him having to reshoot the scene.
Scott Wolf never realized that shooting a gun would be that loud
The NCIS alum talked about how excited he was to be on the show, where he, through his own admission, was able to play a ‘Navy Seal ‘-like character.
However, he was not very prepared to use a gun, as his character demanded. He said (via TV Insider):
Scott Wolf had to eventually reshoot the scene after the weekend, given that the loud noise had caused the actor to react to the sound of the gun being shot. This could have led to an unusable shot, given that the actor had possibly flinched, leading him to reshoot the shot the next time he was on set.
Scott Wolf says he still gets recognized for his three-episode role
Scott Wolf also revealed that despite having a relatively short-lived role on the show, fans still recognize him as Jonathan Cole. He said:
I did three episodes, I don’t even know how long ago, and I might get stopped for that in airports as much as anything else. It’s a very popular show, obviously. But there was something about the fact that they made a little arc out of that character, and he wasn’t a one-off, shoot people and go away [character].”
Scott Wolf’s very short tenure on the show made a splash with fans, the kind that managed to still get him recognized for the show to this day. This comes after the actor has had a slew of roles that have received some high-profile praise, like Nancy Drew and The Night Shift.
