Invincible Season 5 Release & Streaming Guide: When & Where To Watch

A while after Season 3 wrapping up, Invincible was confirmed for a Season 5 in July 2025. There is no concrete release date yet, but speculations suggest that fans can expect the show to drop sometime in early 2027.

Invincible’s animation has been a subject for much criticism in the fandom, with tight release schedules being blamed for it. Some fans are happy that Prime Video is prioritizing Invincible, while others are skeptical about the quality of animation in what could be an important season.

Every Comic Storyline That May Happen In Invincible Season 5

Season 5 of Invincible is going to be an important one for the show. There are a multitude of mysteries that are going to be introduced in this installment of Invincible, what with the scourge virus coming into play. Allen the Alien is going to make some tough choices, and Mark might have a life-altering change in the season as well.

Invincible Season 4 covered about 13 issues across eight episodes, with a slew of original content from Robert Kirkman, such as Invincible’s adventures in hell.

If Season 5 can be assumed to cover a similar amount, we can suspect what fans can expect to see in the show. It must be noted that some events were left out of the show, such as Omni-man visiting the GDA, and Eve and Mark having dinner with The Immortal, Kate, and their children. These could also pop up in later seasons. However, given the way in which these stories are written, coverage could stretch to issue #100, depending on what is cut and what is moved around.

1 The Gravitator Mini-Arc

Gravitator was a small-time crook who invented gravity manipulation tech. He wanted to pull off a heist that would allow him to buy his girlfriend an engagement ring. However, when realizing Invincible has come for him, he surrenders, knowing he is outclassed. After some shenanigans, he is recruited by the GDA on Mark’s recommendation and becomes an important member of D.A. Sinclair’s team.

This depicts a marked difference in Mark’s character and behavior, given that he is now open to giving criminals a second chance. This idea was teased at the beginning of Season 4, where D.A. Sinclair tried to apologize to Mark. This season in general could see Mark’s attitude to global problems changing. This can be thought of as a fallout of the deal he made with Thragg, realizing that sometimes, decisions require trading off interests.

2 Powerplex Returns

Upon seeing Invincible return and working with the GDA (albeit in a partial capacity), Powerplex, despite being a reformed superhero by this time, will attack Invincible. Mark, having matured beyond blaming himself, is going to show Powerplex that it was his actions that killed his wife and child, not Invincibles. This is going to show how much more confident Mark is as a hero, and how much he can handle with the Viltrumite War behind him.

3 The Destruction of Las Vegas

Dinosaurus (Matthew Rhys)Dinosaurus, the architect of the destruction of Las Vegas || Credit: Prime Video

Introduced this season, Dinosaurus is going to make an appearance again and wipe out Las Vegas. This is going to be an important storyline in Invincible, as it is going to change how Mark looks at being a superhero.

Dinosaurus is a radical environmentalist who believes that drastic steps must be taken, like population eradication, if humans are to survive. After Vegas is destroyed, the chunk of land that used to be the city is used to harvest solar energy. This solves a lot of issues for the world, leading Invincible to believe that Dinosaurus was right.

4 Robot and Monster Girl Return

This season saw Robot and Monster Girl be stuck in the Flaxan realm. While the duo returns unceremoniously in the comics, the show could see them returning with a lot of fanfare. While on Flaxan, Robot grew up and found a way to aid Amanda in using her powers without being de-aged.

However, with the 700 years that they were in the Flaxan world, Amanda will have stepped out on Robot, causing the relationship to sour, and by the time they return, completely broken. This arc is going to show that Invincible and Robot have similar approaches to solving problems now, given that Robot also feels that heroes should solve the actual problem, and not deal with villains as and when they pop up, regardless of circumstance.

5 The Expansion of The Guardians of the Globe

While not part of the actual Invincible comic, the recruitment of a new Guardians of the Globe could be a part of the Season. Coming from a spin-off comic, much like Tech Jacket, this could be one of the most important side stories in the season, as Cecil begins assembling a stronger team of heroes, in the hopes of having a more robust team that is better equipped, well prepared, and more numerous in number, so that major global envents don’t end up depleting the team every step of the way.

6 Universa Returns

Mark’s radical new approach to superheroing is going to see him revisit Universa, the alien who came looking for power for her people. With the new energy being generated in the area where Las Vegas used to be, Invincible can provide the intergalactic hero with the energy she needs to save her people. Invincible deduces that the character must have been desperate, just like he was when he dealt with her. This causes Universa to leave Earth, thankful to Marlk for considering the safety of her people.

7 Invincible Finds Out About Cecil’s ReaniMarks

Seeing how much Invincible has changed, Cecil decides to come clean to him about the alternate Marks that he has fashioned into the Re-animen. These characters were largely absent from Season 4, despite being Cecil’s first line of defence against the coming Viltrumite invasion. Given their absence, it is possible that they might be completely adapted out of the story, despite being created when Conquest invaded Earth.

8 Invincible breaks Dinosaurus out of the GDA

After Dinosaurus is captured for the destruction of Las Vegas, Invincible comes around to his point of view on how problems that are plaguing the world ought to be treated. Dinosaurus. and Invincible actually become good friends, but Mark is labeled a fugitive from the GDA for rescuing him. This also strains the relationship that Mark has with Eve, as Cecil begins a global manhunt for the hero.

9 Allen Finds Out About Viltrumites On Earth

While all the issues that are plaguing Earth are ironed out, Allen finds out from Nolan that the Viltrumtes are on Earth. However, this might be changed in the show, as Nolan was not present when peace was negotiated with Thragg. It remains to be seen how Allen can find out about the Viltrumites being on Earth. Following this, Allen reveals to Nolan his intentions of using the Scourge Virus, which causes Allen and Nolan to duke it out. The fight is broken up by Oliver, who sides with Allen and then heads to Earth.

As Allen and Oliver arrive on Earth with the Scourge Virus, the Grayson brothers reunite, only to begin fighting once Allen reveals the plan. This also gives Mark pause for thought, as Mark’s ideology clashes with Allen’s, who is doing the same thing Mark does, just on a universal scale. Just as Mark is about to square off with Allen ( who beat Nolan bloody, by the way), Thragg shows up to assist Mark. The Guardians of the Globe also show up, finally revealing to the world that the Viltruites are on the planet.

11 Mark is Infected With the Scourge Virus

While trying to wrestle the virus away from Oliver, who snuck out during the fight to unleash it on Earth, the virus is sprayed on Mark, and he takes the brunt of the Scourge Virus. Thragg immediately rushes Mark to a Viltrumite healing facility, where his scientists get to work on making a cure. While he is out, several things happen: Bulletproof takes up the mantle of Invincible, and we delve into his very messed-up personal life. Thragg’s scientists then figure out that Nolan, and by extension Mark, are the heirs of Argall, and could tank the effects of the Virus. This leads Thragg to try to kill Mark, but it is thwarted by Dinosaurus. He rescues Mark and brings him to Earth.

12 Invincible Loses His Powers

As revealed in Season 4, being exposed to the Virus often causes Viltrumites to become vulnerable for a period. This is a direct result of exposure to the Scourge Virus, removing Viltrumite powers. Mark has to then deal with the fact that he cannot be a superhero anymore, and that his loss of powers might be permanent. During this time, Mark largely takes a backseat, while the show focuses on Bulletproof. This includes the character accidentally murdering his own family with his girlfriend, and then making it look like an accident to dodge the blame.

12 Another Falxan Invasion

The first since Robot and Amanda return, this Flaxan invasion manages to hit a different location: London. Robot and Amanda try to stop the invasion, but it turns out that during their time with the Flaxans, they didn’t just unite them to bring peace, but gave them greater militaristic ability to conquer Earth. Among these new invaders is a new soldier, a soldier much bigger than the Flaxans, who calls Monster Girl father. This is Monax Zaxal, who is captured by the GDA when the Flaxans are repelled.

13 Viltrumites Break Protocol

General KreggGeneral Kregg || Credit: Prime Video

During the invasion, General Kregg takes part in repelling the incoming force incognito and is reamed out by Thragg for interfering. Out of all the Viltrumites that are on the planet, Kregg has the most respectable number of children that he has sired. However, he risks his life for one woman in London, which points towards a growing sentiment among Viltrumites that puts Thragg on edge- they are all falling in love with the people they have children with, which is making them reluctant to act in their defence when global issues emerge.

14 The Death of Dinosaurus

Invincible fights DinosaursInvincible fights Dinosaurus || Credit: Image Comics/Robert Kirkman

After Mark regains his powers, he immediately goes back to work with Dinosaurus. However, Dinosaurus enacts a plan that puts the entire planet at risk. Invincible stops him, of course, and this is where his storyline from Season 3 comes to an end. Dinosaurus, realizing his own mistake, tells Invincible that he is dangerous and that Mark should kill him. Invincible obliges and is met by Cecil, who recruits him after Mark realizes that he might not be the best at knowing what is right.

This arc also sees Dinosaurus kill a clone of Invincible on live television, which leads people to believe that Mark is truly dead. This arc ends with Eve announcing to Mark that she is pregnant, just as Nolan and Debbie return to Earth.
