How to Fast Travel in Windrose?

You will be traveling a lot in Windrose, and it can become quite monotonous after spending a few hours in the playthrough. The open sea is too massive for you to explore using a boat, so it’s important to set up Fast Travel Points across the map. These are wooden structures that can be placed on seashores and can be used to travel quickly to any desired location.

As you may have guessed it already, Fast Travel Points aren’t readily available. Instead, you will have to unlock and craft them by progressing through the story. How and when? Leave that to us! Here’s how you can unlock and do fast travel in Windrose easily.

How to Unlock Fast Travel in Windrose

You will be introduced to the fast travel mechanics pretty early in the game. It’s a part of the first few missions, and is also crucial for your gameplay. In fact, fast traveling is something that every beginner should learn as early as possible. A Fast Travel Point comprises a wooden structure with a bell on it. The bell is called a Fast Travel Bell, which can be crafted separately, more on that later. As soon as you discover it, you will unlock the ability to craft more at the workbench.

To fast travel to any location, you will have to place a Fast Travel Point there beforehand. To craft this structure, you will need the following resources:

• 1x Fast Travel Bell
• 20x Wood

Just so you know, a Fast Travel Bell can be crafted using 10x Copper Ingot and 3x Rope. Once you have these resources in your inventory, you can craft the bell at a workbench. With that out of the way, you finally have the key resource to fast travel in Windrose.

Now, head over to any location and place the Fast Travel Point there from your inventory. A general thing to remember is that they should be placed near the seashore to function. You can use the feature by interacting with it. Doing so will open the map, revealing all other Fast Travel Points that you have placed in different locations. You can then select any of them and teleport there instantly.

Important Things to Know About Fast Traveling in Windrose

Here are a few important things that you must know about the fast travel feature in this game:

• You can have a maximum of 10 Fast Travel Points at once. Initially, you will need at least two of them to fast-travel from one location to another.
• Fast travel temporarily becomes unavailable when you’re actively engaged in combat or when an enemy is chasing you. Hence, we suggest you use the best weapons or cannons to finish them off quickly.
• You don’t strictly have to get close to a Fast Travel Point to initiate the traversal. You can also do it from the boat. Just open the map while steering a boat, and select a Fast Travel Point to teleport to.
• Certain locations, like a Faction Hub, will have a built-in Fast Travel Point nearby. In such cases, it’s best to avoid putting a Fast Travel Point as it will be a waste of resources. You can place it somewhere else to cover a larger area on the map.
• It’s recommended to set up a Fast Travel Point at your main base. Since you will be traveling there a lot, it’s better to keep one over there to save up a lot of time and energy.
