How to Get Paprika in Solarpunk Guide

Paprika is one of the most valuable food crops in Solarpunk. Why? Well, it gives you a solid +190 Food stat that makes it a good choice for any player looking to keep the hunger at bay. Whether you are trying to locate it in the wild or grow it on your base island, this guide covers every step, from finding your first plant to building your very own paprika farm.

The fastest way to get your hands on Paprika is by harvesting it from wild plants scattered across the world’s outermost floating islands. They are mostly available on the frozen ones, with the Wild Winter Island having two wild Paprika plants waiting to be plucked by the player.

You can also find Paprika on the Tiny Double Island, Stairs Island, as well as the U-Shape Island. Furthermore, to reach these islands, you’ll need to upgrade your Airship’s range first. You can do so by first focusing on progressing through the airship upgrade tree early, as many of the game’s better crop islands, including this one, are locked behind higher airship levels.

Once you have your first Paprika crop or seed, the goal is to multiply it before spending any of it on food. Paprika has a growth time of 13 minutes and 20 seconds, on par with Tomato and Watermelon. When it comes to watering, you’ll need to make use of the Watering Can that is unlocked in the early game, or you can use the Sprinkler to automate the process entirely.

Seed expansion is the tricky part here. Early in the game, converting crops back into seeds isn’t available at the crafting table because that is a feature locked behind the Seedspack, unlocked at Tier 6 of the tech tree.

Once Seedspack is unlocked, 4 Paprika crops craft into 1 Paprika Seed, and scaling your farm becomes straightforward. Additionally, the crop is also used in several cooking recipes, where it contributes to higher-value meals with buffs to stamina and other stats.
