How Many Players Can Play Meccha Chameleon?

The recommended player count is 2 to 10! Keep in mind that’s the sweet spot the developers themselves stand behind for a smooth and stable session (via Steam).

However, the actual ceiling goes much higher! The hard lobby cap is 24 players, set when the host creates a server. Also, anything up to 13 players should run stably, according to the developers (via Gamesradar).

So, if you push it to 14–24 players, it becomes a gamble. Performance entirely depends on the host’s CPU and internet connection speed. If the host disconnects at any point, the entire session ends.

Public lobbies are available too. Hence, if you don’t set a server to private, anyone can walk in. However, for the cleanest experience, stick to 10 players or under in Meccha Chameleon.

Simply put, no, Meccha Chameleon does not have cross-play! To be frank, it doesn’t need it right now because the game is only on one platform. Meccha Chameleon is a PC-exclusive, available only on Steam (Windows 10 64-bit).

There is no PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, or Android version, so there’s nothing to cross-play between. Mac players aren’t entirely out of luck since unofficial workarounds can get the game running, but these are unsupported, and your mileage will vary.
