Helldivers 2 Mechs

SUMMARY

  • Helldivers 2 players on Reddit are requesting Arrowhead Game Studios to buff Mechs.
  • Players have suggested that Mechs could have modular arms, similar to Iron Man's Hulkbuster suit.
  • Arrowhead has confirmed that they are planning to buff Mechs in the game.

The addition of the latest Fast Recon Vehicle has convinced players that the Mechs/Exosuits also need some kind of buffs. Helldivers 2 currently has two types of Mechs: EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit and EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit. These Mechs are amazing but fans now want Arrowhead Game Studios to remove their limitations.

The FRV has no limit as players can call in the vehicle unlimited times during a mission, however, Mechs now having a limit of 2 doesn’t make sense. Apart from this limit, players also want to see the Mechs getting some upgrades, modular arms in particular. Since both Mechs have limited ammo, giving them removable arms like Iron Man’s Hulkbuster would make the Mechs much better.

With the addition of the Fast Recon Vehicle in Helldivers 2, it seems like the Mechs are struggling to keep up. Fans on the r/Helldivers subreddit have pointed out that Mechs now need a strong buff since the FRV can be used unlimited times. During the discussion, players suggested that the Mechs also need modular arms like the Iron Man Hulkbuster suit.

Now that we have the FRV in the game and the fact that it comes with unlimited uses, I don’t think that the Mech cap due to limitations still apply. Do you think that Arrowhead should remove the 2 cap on the Mech and make them unlimited as well? Also bear in mind that the Mech has a longer cooldown.

Players want Mechs to have detachable arms that can be replaced with different kinds of arms such as claws, rocket launchers, shields, etc. Giving players the freedom to have customizable Mech loadout would make the unit much more powerful. This may seem farfetched but Arrowhead Game Studios could simply allow players to rearm, refilling the ammo.

Currently, both the Mechs can be called in only twice during one mission. The Emancipator Exosuit comes with two twin autocannons and the Patriot Exosuit has fourteen rockets and a mini-gun capable of holding a thousand rounds of ammunition. Both have a cooldown time of 600 seconds.

Sephez, an Arrowhead Game Studios developer, recently revealed on the game’s official Discord that the studio has “something in the oven” for mechs but it’s “nothing too crazy.” What most players want to see is a Stratagem Launcher as getting out of the mech to call in another Stratagem can get quite difficult.

With melee weapons getting so popular in Helldivers 2, Mechs also need to have some wild melee weapons, something like a Morningstar mace melee weapon. Players strongly believe that modular arms would completely revolutionize the Mechs, making them much more powerful and popular among the community.
