The new Incinerator FRV in Helldivers 2 is exactly the sort of vehicle Super Earth’s best engineers would create after asking themselves whether an armored car could solve more problems by also being a giant flamethrower.
Built on the foundation of the standard Fast Recon Vehicle, the M-104 swaps passenger capacity for heavier protection and enough fire to make bugs, bots, and squids question their life choices. Here’s everything you need to know before taking one out for a spin.

Before you can unleash its fiery payload, you’ll need to know how this vehicle becomes available and what sets it apart from the standard FRV:
How to Get the M-104 Incinerator FRV
At the time of writing, the Incinerator FRV is only available as a “Weapons Experimentation” Operational Variation on Sangis in the Omega sector. Helldivers fighting against the Illuminates on the planet can call it down directly and test-drive Super Earth’s latest answer to traffic congestion.
Its long-term unlock path is tied to the ongoing Census Thunder Galactic Campaign. If Sangis is liberated before Basquine VIII, the Incinerator FRV will enter full production first and become available as a Stratagem Permit reward.
If Basquine VIII wins the race instead, the Supply FRV enters production first. Either way, Arrowhead is finally moving toward something many players have requested for a long time: rewarding successful Major Orders with actual gameplay unlocks instead of another medal payout.
To unlock the Incinerator FRV once it becomes permanently available:
- Participate in the relevant Major Order campaign
- Help liberate the required target planet
- Receive the Stratagem Permit reward
- Purchase the vehicle through the Hangar section
- Equip it like any other vehicle stratagem
Incinerator FRV Stats and Breakdown
The Incinerator FRV shares much of its structure with the standard FRV but receives several notable durability upgrades (via Helldivers Wiki):
| Main | 2400 | Medium | 0% |
| Doors (4) & Hatches (4) | 150 | Medium | 100% |
| Tires (4) | 350 | Light | 65% |
| Rims (4) | 10 | Light | 100% |
| Attachments (10) | 10 | Unarmored | 100% |
Naturally, the extra armor and roof-mounted flamethrower come with trade-offs. The Incinerator FRV accelerates more slowly, handles less sharply, and sacrifices a passenger seat. Including the driver, only three Helldivers can ride at once.
Its main attraction is, of course, the mounted flamethrower. In terms of function and stats, it is very similar to the B/FLAM-80 Cremator support weapon stratagem (aka the Heavy Flamethrower), with terrifying close-to-medium-range damage. The only difference is that the vehicle version has 800 fuel instead of 500 and comes with a protective shield for the gunner.
The Best Incinerator FRV Tips Every Driver Should Know
The biggest boom a vehicle can explode into. | Image Credit: Arrowhead Game Studios/FandomWireThe Incinerator FRV is surprisingly straightforward to use (as should anything for a Free of Thought Helldiver). Drive toward the enemy, point the flamethrower in their general direction, and watch liberty happen. That said, a few tricks can help you get considerably more value from it:
- Treat the mounted flamethrower like an even more reliable Cremator. It excels against anything reckless enough to close the distance, particularly Terminids and Illuminate forces that prefer fighting at shorter ranges.
- Be careful when firing forward while moving at full speed. Flames can trail back into the vehicle and potentially set both the FRV and its passengers on fire. Managed Democracy does not cover self-inflicted barbecuing.
- The spiked ramming grille reduces the pushback caused by collisions. In other words, smaller enemies are far less likely to slow your momentum, so you can safely put your squad’s most aggressive driver behind the wheel.
- If the vehicle’s main health reaches zero while fuel remains in the flamethrower tank, it detonates in a massive explosion. The blast radius is comparable to an Eagle 500kg Bomb, but with a Demolition Force of 50.
- That Demolition Force creates an interesting opportunity against objectives like Automaton Stratagem Jammers. With enough planning, the Incinerator FRV can destroy targets normally reserved for Hellbombs and Portable Hellbombs.
- For maximum cinematic value, it is absolutely a valid strategy to use the vehicle as a giant guided demolition charge. Add a few C4 packs, point it toward the objective, and abandon ship at the last possible moment.
Beyond the above, most standard FRV techniques apply here, too. Driving in first gear offers excellent control at the expense of speed, and the vehicle shares the same basic controls and settings as its predecessor.
