GTA 6: Cyberleek Officially Has Just 48 Hours Left Before Rockstar Makes Him Irrelevant

GTA 6’s most talked-about leaker is now officially staring down an expiration date. With Rockstar’s official Netflix showcase releasing on August 27, the anonymous entity known as Cyberleek, at the time of this writing, officially has 48 hours left before Rockstar themselves release some of the most polished, high-quality marketing footage.

This should essentially bury every grainy leak clip they have dropped so far, and by miles. But will that be enough?

How Cyberleek Became GTA 6’s Main Character

Rockstar Games hadn’t shown a single frame of new GTA 6 gameplay since May 2025, and this scarcity is what turned Cyberleek into a messiah, at least in the beginning of this fiasco. Since mid-August, they have been steadily posting clips pulled from a build that is said to be a playable build from 2025, something that fans have been able to track thanks to the tracks and music used in the footage.

These leaks have also shown off many mechanics of the game that Rockstar would have liked to keep hidden under wraps for a while, including the gas refueling system and key-cloning mechanics, the new combat system, a look at the strip club, and, most recently, a look at the beach in-game.

Things took a turn for the worse when, in one of the early clips, the leaker shot the word “LEEK” on a wall with bullets, proving they have a playable build of the game. The entity has also tied the whole operation to a cryptocurrency token, using paywalled community polls to let fans vote on which clip gets released next.

Why the Netflix Extended Look Could End This Legendary Run

The official marketing drought from Rockstar’s side ends on August 27. The studio’s Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look gets a Netflix-only release starting at 3 P.M. ET, and a six-hour wait later, everyone else can catch it for free through YouTube and the game’s own website starting at 9 P.M. ET the same evening.

It would be Rockstar’s first real gameplay showcase built for the November 19 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/ S, and it arrives in a high-bitrate quality, rather than the comparatively limited and low-quality clips the leaks have offered. Once the official footage for the game is made public, the incentive to look at rough dev-build videos should mostly disappear. Whenever the studio decides to go full speed with their marketing tactics, the leaks should simply end up becoming irrelevant.
