Knowing Catherine has the Isabel photograph, Hal understands the danger surrounding the Eastons. When he threatens her, she drugs him and locks him in her car.

The move shows Catherine is becoming reckless. She has exposed herself to someone who knows her identity and seems almost willing to risk everything. Her moment with Alden makes her revenge feel even more tragic.
