Logan Paul and Dwayne Johnson developed an unlikely friendship back in the late 2010s. It reached such a level that Paul even appeared in the promotional material for the film Baywatch. However, it did not last long for in January 2018, tragedy struck.

Paul uploaded his infamous Forest of S**cides video on YouTube, visiting the Aokigahara forest at the base of Mount Fuji, which is famous for being a frequent site of s**cides. In the said video, he and his friends came across a man’s body and even made some problematic remarks about it. This eventually led to Google cutting business ties with him and severe backlash from fans (via BBC).

This incident spread like wildfire across the internet and soon enough, Paul received a call from his publicist insisting that he delete all photos and videos of Johnson from his social media. Furthermore, he was told on the same call that the wrestler-turned-actor wanted nothing to do with him anymore (via True Geordie Podcast).

Logan Paul, in an appearance on the In Depth podcast with Graham Bensinger, remarked losing Dwayne Johnson’s friendship was one of the saddest moments of his life. Having been blacklisted by Johnson, the YouTuber has suffered a lot mentally since he lost one of his ‘heroes’ over a mistake.

While he might not be friends with The Rock anymore, Paul seems to be doing way better than his hero. Recently, Conor McGregor reposted a series of tweets (via X) stating that he will be fighting Paul at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India, in 2025, with each boxer reportedly earning $250 million each for the bout.

This huge salary is not only one of Logan Paul’s biggest paychecks of all time but it is also five times more than Dwayne Johnson’s biggest Hollywood paycheck. As reported by Variety, the actor reportedly made over $50 million for his holiday adventure movie, Red One. So, while he might have lost his friendship, Paul sure is doing much better than his hero when it comes to money.
