When it comes to Haki, the One Piece series featured some of its most versatile uses – derived from the base three forms – the Armament, Observation, and the Conqueror’s Haki (also known as the colour of the Supreme King). However, if we dive deeper, it seems that only Observation and the Conqueror’s Haki are the most versatile ones and present some of the rarest and scariest abilities in the series.
Without any more delay, we compiled the rarest Haki abilities used in the series so far and ranked them by power and impact. Let’s jump right in and check them out, mostly innate and rare traits of the Observation and the Conqueror’s Haki.

7 Long Range Haki Carries Will and Intent Across Vast Distances
Red-Haired Shanks from One Piece | Credits: Toei AnimationThis one is a fun entry in the series, as One Piece fans literally started calling the ability ” Wi-Fi Haki”, shown during the Wano Country Arc. When Admiral Ryokugyu was charging in on the Straw Hats, Shanks stopped him dead in his tracks from a very far distance using his Conqueror’s Haki release.
A rare application allowing Haki to be projected or sensed across vast distances, used to communicate or sense intent remotely. It ranks last because, while impressive, it’s a utility and sensory enhancement rather than a power that directly damages, debuffs, or defines a character’s destiny, making it the least battle-impactful entry on this list.
6 Future Sight Lets the User Peek Into Moments Before They Happen
Charlotte Katakuri from One Piece | Credits: Toei AnimationOne of the most baffling showcases of the Observation Haki technique, Future Sight lets users see several seconds ahead, predicting attacks before they happen – while Katakuri is the series’ main icon for the technique, Luffy and Zoro also use it situationally. This technique became the core condition for unlocking Luffy’s Gear 4: Snakeman.
It ranks sixth because, while extremely difficult to master, it’s a refinement of regular Observation Haki rather than a wholly unique power, and multiple characters have shown glimpses of it, making it comparatively less exclusive.
5 Observation Killing Erases an Enemy’s Sixth Sense Instantly
Shanks from One Piece | Credits: Toei AnimationYes, it’s exactly how it sounds; Observation Killing Haki is basically a counter to regular Observation Haki – it can kill and neutralise the opponent’s Observation Haki completely. It’s a Conqueror’s Haki application that destroys an enemy’s Observation Haki rather than knocking them out, used only by Shanks as of now.
It ranks 5th because its impact – while precise and rare – is more of a debuff than a finishing or world-shaking ability; it disables a sense rather than ending a fight outright like the entries above it. In simple words, it’s a great counter against characters like Dracule Mihawk and Zoro; however, they still retain their ability to use their swords.
4 Conqueror’s Haki Can Strip Immortality From Its Victims
Scopper Gaban from One Piece | Credits: Toei AnimationScopper Gaban revealed that immortality can be countered using Conqueror’s Haki – a power also used by Rocks D. Xebec and Gold D. Roger in the past, and Shanks in the current era. However, no matter how cool it sounds to strip the opponents of their immortality, it doesn’t really have much wider application.
It ranks fourth because it directly nullifies what was previously framed as an unbeatable trait, seen with the members of the Gorosei, making it situationally world-altering. But its application is narrower than the Shockwave or Haki Infusion since it only matters against a specific, rare type of enemy.
3 Conqueror’s Haki Infusion Turns Willpower Into a Weapon
Gol D. Roger from One Piece | Credits: Toei AnimationAs we have seen many characters use Haki Infusion already, it may feel like a more common application than a rare one, until you realise – it’s a direct Conqueror’s Haki application, which is already a rare form of Haki type to begin with. Its mechanics are actually simple – imbuing Conqueror’s Haki into attacks and weapons to physically damage and overwhelm opponents, bypassing normal defences.
Shown by Monkey D. Luffy, Red-Haired Shanks, Gol D. Roger, and Whitebeard – it sits third because, while devastatingly powerful, it’s an offensive scaling of base Conqueror’s Haki rather than a wholly separate ability. Abilities like Shockwave or Voice of All Things are much more devastating and trickier by nature.
2 Voice of All Things Lets Users Speak to Beasts and Objects
The Pirate King Gol D. Roger from One Piece | Credits: Toei AnimationOne of the rarest and innate abilities from the application of Haki, the Voice of All Things, allows users to communicate with animals and inanimate objects, gaining information from them without speech – an ability used by only a handful of characters as of now: Gol D. Roger, Kozuki Oden, Monkey D. Luffy, and Kozuki Momonosuke.
It ranks second because, unlike combat Haki, it’s tied to destiny and the Will of D – directly enabling Roger’s path to becoming Pirate King. The technique carries a narrative weight that outweighs most combat techniques, even though it isn’t an offensive ability itself.
1 Conqueror’s Haki Shockwaves Can Level Anything in Their Path
Soaring Gryffon from One Piece | Credits: Toei AnimationIf you are looking for the most destructive Haki ability in the series, you don’t have to look any further than the Conqueror’s Haki Shockwaves. The most destructive known Haki feat – very recently, Shanks used the Soaring Gryffon on the Kid Pirates and destroyed the Victoria Punk, their pirate ship. Ranked first because it’s the only ability on this list confirmed to one-shot powerful foes outright and counter both immortality and durability simultaneously.
It requires mastery rare even among Conqueror’s Haki users – with only legendary figures like Rocks, Roger, and Red-Haired Shanks confirmed to wield it. It is the most destructive and rare Haki ability recorded in the series so far, and checks every box to become number 1 on this list.
| Rank | Haki Ability | Haki Type / Derived From | Notable Users |
| 1 | Conqueror’s Haki Shockwaves | Conqueror’s Haki | Shanks, Gol D. Roger, Rocks D. Xebec |
| 2 | Voice of All Things | Observation Haki (Innate) | Gol D. Roger, Monkey D. Luffy, Kozuki Oden, Kozuki Momonosuke |
| 3 | Conqueror’s Haki Infusion | Conqueror’s Haki | Gol D. Roger, Whitebeard, Shanks, Monkey D. Luffy |
| 4 | Stripping Immortality | Conqueror’s Haki | Scopper Gaban, Shanks, Gol D. Roger, Rocks D. Xebec |
| 5 | Observation Killing | Conqueror’s Haki | Red-Haired Shanks |
| 6 | Future Sight | Observation Haki | Charlotte Katakuri, Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro |
| 7 | Long Range Haki | Conqueror’s Haki | Red-Haired Shanks |
