Every New Disney Announcement at CinemaCon 2026

The Walt Disney Studios made several exciting announcements at CinemaCon 2026. With multiple studios under the studios, they had plenty to share. The chairman, Alan Bergman, came to the stage to list out Hollywood’s three biggest successes that came from the studio. Zootopia 2, amassing $1.9 billion, Avatar: Fire and Ash, grossing $1.5 billion, and Lilo and Stitch, surpassing $1 billion globally, as of April 17, 2026 (via WaltDisneyCompany).

Moreover, the chairman promised that Disney will continue to bring out global hits by delivering theatrical experiences to bring the fans to the cinemas. This included a plethora of announcements, including Marvel and Star Wars. The studio has already released two movies recently, Hoppers and Send Help – both superhits with critics and fans.

1 Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu

Release Date: May 22, 2026

Releasing on Memorial Day, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, Lucasfilm’s all-new movie brings back the legendary bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his adopted son, Grogu aka Baby Yoda. This movie is important to fans as it is the first Star Wars movie in all of seven years. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will be a sequel to the TV show The Mandalorian. Fans who have not come across any easter eggs in The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer might be surprised.

The brand new trailer for the movie has both Djarin and Yoda flying off to another land. Djarin is looking for information about gangsters and the remaining warlords. He promises to defeat all the bad guys, as the trailer shows the duo fighting stormtroopers easily. Djarin is then told by a gangster that he and Yoda will both suffer, as the Mandalorian worries about Yoda’s future when he won’t be around. The duo fights multiple monsters and enemies together, with action-packed scenes and the same level of production as The Mandalorian TV series that fans love.

Another 15-minute scene from the upcoming movie was included in the CinemaCon presentation, showcasing Djarin and Yoda raiding a facility of warlords. The Mandalorian uses all his weaponry to fight stormtroopers and chases the warlords, and it seems like nothing can defeat him. He then returns to Colonel Ward (Weaver) and is given a new assignment and a Razor Chest (via NewRockstars on X).

2 Avengers: Doomsday

Release Date: December 18, 2026

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is said to be the Infinity era of Phase 6, bringing Robert Downey Jr. back to the screens, this time as a villain, Victor Von Doom. The Russo brothers joined Kevin Feige at CinemaCon to reveal more about the villain. Downey Jr. made a surprise appearance, following an exclusive look at the upcoming movie, and brought Chris Evans, who plays Steve Rogers, onto the stage.

According to the creators, Doomsday will have three of our iconic superheroes coming from different universes to fight an existential threat. This will be a threat unlike any other, forcing the heroes to come together and fight the villain, Doctor Doom. The trailer for Doomsday hasn’t been publicly released yet, but we have a few details about it.

The first trailer for the highly anticipated movie sees Thor (Chris Hemsworth) reuniting with Steve Rogers and fighting Doctor Doom. It also had Professor X watching an explosion outside the X-mansion, and Mystique, the shapeshifting mutant, turning into Yelena and fighting the real Yelena. 3 The Devil Wears Prada 2

Release Date: May 1, 2026

The sequel to the superhit film released back in 2006, The Devil Wears Prada, was the first announcement made at CinemaCon 2026. There was a special message from Anne Hathaway before talking about the much-awaited sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2. After 20 years, the iconic cast is back playing their roles as Miranda (Meryl Streep), Andy (Hathaway), Emily (Emily Blunt), and Nigel (Stanley Tucci).

The trailer for the movie shows Andy, one of the best characters in The Devil Wears Prada, coming back to work for Miranda. A special look at the movie was revealed, and a scene between Miranda and her assistant was shown to the audience.

4 Toy Story 5

Release Date: June 19, 2026

The fan-favourite franchise of Toy Story announced its sequel with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen returning as voices of the iconic characters, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. An exclusive clip was shown at the event for the audience before the duo spoke about reprising their roles for these beloved characters.

A scene showing the reaction of the toys when Bonnie got her tablet, Lilypad, was shared with the audience. She was hooked to it instantly and stayed addicted to it the entire night. The footage hasn’t been released publicly. Toy Story 5 was directed by Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Kenna Harris.

5 Moana

Release Date: July 10, 2026

Dwayne Johnson graced the stage at CinemaCon to talk about the Oscar-winning animated film, Moana‘s live-action adaptation. Catherine Laga’aia, debuting as Moana, also came on stage to talk about her experience. The fan-favourite Disney movie was about a girl in Motunui who gets called from the oceans to explore the world beyond it. She answers the call with the demi-god Maui, who is framed as the villain in the history of Montonui.

Additionally, an exclusive look at Moana was also revealed at the event. Johnson shared a story about his grandfather, who was a Polynesian chief, and that the character of Maui was based on him. Fans can know everything about Moana that has been released so far. The live-action adaptation will feature all the original songs from the movie and is directed by Emmy Award winner Thomas Kail.

6 The Dog Stars

Release Date: August 28, 2026

An epic thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world, 20th Century Studios brings The Dog Stars. The movie showcases humanity as a choice one makes and survival as an instinct. With the amazing cast of Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, and Margaret Qualley, CinemaCon attendees got a look at the debut trailer from the director and producer, Ridley Scott. The movie is an adaptation of the book with the same name.

The trailer begins with the happy family of Hig (Elordi), a young pilot, and the scene shifts instantly into a world without them. Along with military survivalist, Bangley (Brolin), Hig and his dog have made a homestead to survive this world. This is disrupted by a radio transmission that comes through, pushing Hig into the world of the unknown. The hero believes there is still hope and humanity in the world, which is what he leaves in search of. The movie will premiere in theatres on August 28, 2026.

7 Hexed

Release Date: November 25, 2026

Walt Disney Animation Studios announced Hexed‘s cast, including Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones. The coming-of-age magical saga also unveiled its logo, and CinemaCon attendees got a brief introduction to the premise of the project before seeing a first look at the movie.

The story surrounds an unconventional teenage daughter named Billie (Steinfeld) going on a journey with her cautious mother (Jones). Billie discovers magical abilities, leading her to uncover a realm of witches called Hexe. She is forced to team up with her mother, where they discover family secrets and mysteries that would completely change the world for witches.

8 Ice Age: Boiling Point

Release Date: February 5, 2027

The cast of Ice Age: Boiling Point, Queen Latifah, Ray Romano, and Denis Leary, came on stage at CinemaCon to talk about what fans can expect from the sequel to Ice Age. The cast revealed that the prehistoric saga will be a “dinosaurs and lava-filled madcap adventure”. The sequel brings back fan-favourite characters – Sid, Manny, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and the gang.

The group will have to explore undiscovered territories of the Lost World, which CinemaCon attendees got a sneak peek at. It will be an exciting adventure for fans of the franchise to reunite with their much-loved characters from Ice Age. The movie is set to release in theatres on February 5, 2027.
