There is a long way for the It Ends with Us controversy to go before we can pull the plug on it. Right from the get-go, the film was under the scrutiny of the public eye for trying to romanticize a story about domestic violence. Then came the promotions and Blake Lively’s behavior in interviews was enough to make fans run as far as they could from the film. Now, even months after the film’s release, controversy hasn’t left its side with the actress filing a lawsuit against her co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.
In her complaint, Blake Lively had a lot to say about Justin Baldoni’s unwanted advances towards her and the involvement, or the lack thereof, of intimacy coordinators. Justin Baldoni hit back with his own side of the story but there is still a lot to see before the case comes to a conclusion. Recently, a video from the film’s promotion has resurfaced on social media, where Blake Lively talked about intimacy coordinators on the set of her film.
Blake Lively on hiring intimacy coordinators
The team of It Ends with Us – Colleen Hoover, Blake Lively, and Brandon Sklenar – sat down for an interview with Access Hollywood. As the conversation shifted to the actress’ romance with the leading actors, the interviewer pointed out how Lively was sometimes the intimacy coordinator on her own.
She stated, “Talk to me about how sometimes you were even the intimacy coordinator in some of those sexier scenes.” To this, Lively laughed and replied,

What Blake Lively’s lawsuit says
When Lively filed a federal lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of s*xual harassment and conducting a smear campaign against her, her lawyer stated that the actor improvised physical intimacy on set.
Not only that, but he also wrote that Baldoni made these impromptu decisions without the involvement of intimacy coordinators.
The lawsuit reads (via In Touch Weekly),
The lawyer went on to describe Baldoni’s alleged moves stating,
From allegedly telling her that she smells good during a scene to apparently pressuring her into going full nude for the birthing scene, the lawsuit makes a ton of grave allegations against Baldoni.
In return, Baldoni has denied the accusations and filed a lawsuit against The New York Times for pushing a one-sided narrative. He stated that the article talks about Lively’s predicament conveniently and “intentionally exclude[d] that Lively refused to meet with the intimacy coordinator to plan out the film’s s*x scenes.”
His lawyer stated that Baldoni and Lively would work on the intimate scenes together, without an intimacy coordinator. As a part of this collaboration, they would talk about their personal experiences. As per the lawyer, The Times took this and turned it into a narrative that blames Baldoni for talking about his s*x life on set. The lawyer also added that the actor only acted at “the direction of the intimacy coordinator.”
The controversy has successfully become a tangled web of accusations, lawsuits, and resurfaced clops that continue to ignite heated debates. With both Lively and Baldoni presenting opposite narratives, the ultimate end of this high-profile clash remains to be seen.
