But in a recent clip from the latest trailer, even the most loyal fans are having a hard time justifying an explicit scene featuring Sydney Sweeney’s character, Cassie, in an extremely suggestive and revealing baby outfit.

And with the new trailer releasing just before the premiere of the first episode on HBO Max, people have been completely taken aback by what they witnessed, especially with the actions of Sweeney’s character. Here, comments ranged from “Sam Levinson come up with a career for a woman that isn’t sex work challenge” to “Sydney could’ve said no to the baby outfit and the FBI needs to raid Sam’s computer.“

Euphoria may have made a name for itself as one of the most polarising and radically different shows currently airing, with an average of 16.3 million viewers for Season 2 (via Variety), thanks to its use of extreme nudity and borderline traumatic storytelling. And now the recent trailer has gotten people up in arms about the whole situation even more than before.

While Sweeney may be comfortable with n*de scenes in the series, people are calling out her recent scene in a sexualised baby outfit with a pacifier in her mouth in Season 3 as one of the most disturbing and inappropriate things Euphoria has ever done. Over different social media platforms online, people are calling out the show and its creator, Sam Levinson, as going too far, even for the plot.

On top of the scene being hailed as nothing but a distasteful attempt at shock value, many fans and the general public are also concerned with how Sweeney did not think about her reputation and image degradation from such shots.

Sydney Sweeney Is at the Center of Other Euphoria Controversies

While people may be focused on this recent controversy, there have been other issues that Sweeney has found herself in recent times, before the release of Euphoria Season 3.

One of the biggest ones that was being talked about was the alleged feud between the actress and her co-star, Zendaya, where it was reported that both of them were keeping their distance from each other as tensions between them were high. It was reported by The Sun that both Sweeney and Zendaya were avoiding each other at the event premiere of the show, while even during filming, they were seen staying far away from each other, allegedly due to their political beliefs.

Another major issue, stemming from politics and social norms, was her American Eagle advertisement campaign, where people were accusing her of promoting eugenics and White Supremacy through the campaign’s slogan, something that American Eagle had to step in to settle (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Last, but not least, Sweeney found that the fans of the show were claiming that the character development of Cassie in Euphoria has been dumbed down to just NSFW adult content without any substance behind it. Not only has it affected the actress’s resume, but according to the fandom, it ruins the entire series along with it.
