Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 3 revives one of Vegeta’s most badass moments as the Saiyan prince stands up to Beerus after the God of Destruction strikes Bulma. The episode begins with Beerus and Whis arriving on Earth in search of the Super Saiyan God before crashing Bulma’s birthday party.
However, a dispute over pudding turns the celebration into a nightmare, forcing Earth’s strongest fighters to confront a threat they cannot overcome. Vegeta’s furious response becomes the episode’s biggest highlight, while its unresolved cliffhanger leaves Earth’s fate hanging in the balance.
Whis and Beerus Reach Earth in Search of the Super Saiyan God
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 3 | Credits: Toei AnimationFollowing his encounter with Goku on King Kai’s planet in Episode 2, Beerus travels to Earth with Whis to continue searching for the Super Saiyan God. Their arrival coincides with Bulma’s birthday party, where the Z Fighters and their friends have gathered to celebrate. Vegeta immediately becomes nervous upon seeing the God of Destruction. Unlike his usual arrogant self, the Saiyan prince desperately tries to keep everyone from upsetting their dangerous guest. Having witnessed Beerus’s terrifying power before, Vegeta understands that one wrong move could put the entire planet at risk.
Meanwhile, Beerus and Whis discover something that briefly distracts them from their mission: Earth’s food. The pair happily begin sampling the dishes at the party, allowing the celebration to continue despite their intimidating guests. However, Vegeta remains painfully aware that their peaceful gathering could collapse at any moment.
Watching Vegeta abandon his usual pride to keep Beerus happy is particularly entertaining. The prince has spent years proving himself against powerful opponents, yet he knows that challenging this visitor would be disastrous. His desperate attempts to maintain peace also make the tension more amusing, especially when Beerus seems perfectly content to enjoy the party’s food. Unfortunately, Vegeta’s efforts prove futile when Majin Buu refuses to share his pudding with the God of Destruction. What follows turns Bulma’s birthday celebration into a fight for Earth’s survival.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Sends the Beerus Into a Pudding-Fueled Rage
Majin Buu’s refusal to share his pudding pushes Beerus over the edge. The God of Destruction erupts in anger, transforming a ridiculous disagreement over dessert into a terrifying confrontation. Majin Buu, Gotenks, Piccolo, and the other Z Fighters attempt to stop his rampage, but their combined strength proves insufficient.
Beerus overwhelms Earth’s defenders, making it painfully clear that their usual teamwork cannot save them. The comedy surrounding his obsession with pudding quickly gives way to tension as everyone realises how easily he could destroy their world. Their failure also makes Beerus’s power feel even more frightening, as Earth’s strongest fighters struggle to do anything meaningful against him. Then comes the moment that defines the episode. When Beerus strikes Bulma, Vegeta finally loses his composure. His earlier caution disappears, replaced by sheer fury at seeing his wife hurt. Rather than continue trying to appease the God of Destruction, he attacks Beerus without hesitation.
Beerus challenges Oolong in Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 3 | Credits: Toei AnimationVegeta’s reaction makes this moment so memorable. He knows Beerus is far stronger, yet protecting Bulma matters more to him than the consequences of fighting back. His willingness to challenge an opponent he has every reason to fear reveals how deeply he cares about his family. Unfortunately, his anger cannot bridge the enormous gap between their powers, and Beerus defeats him. Nevertheless, Vegeta‘s willingness to defend his wife remains one of his most badass moments in the series.
Beerus then gives Earth one final chance. He challenges Oolong to a game of rock-paper-scissors, declaring that Earth will be spared if Oolong wins but destroyed if he loses. The absurd challenge makes the cliffhanger even more entertaining. Earth’s survival suddenly rests on a simple game, and the episode ends before the result is revealed. With the planet’s fate hanging in the balance, viewers must wait to discover what happens next.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Revives Vegeta’s Most Badass Bulma Moment | Episode 3 Review
In terms of narrative weight, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 3 was more like a filler-like showing that suddenly dropped a serious bomb in the middle with Beerus and Buu's confrontation over pudding. It had decent action and substantial stakes by the end, but it somewhat lacked the umph a Dragon Ball episode usually carries.
