What is Nosferatu about?

Murnau. The film narrated the gothic tale of obsession, love, seduction, and fear, much like it was mentioned in Stoker’s classic novel. 

The original film followed a young man named Thomas Hutter, sent by his employer to the castle of Count Orlok aka Dracula, to assist him with the paperwork for his purchase of a new house. Now through the process of paperwork, Hutter realizes that the house that Orlok is planning to buy is right next to his own home.

Well, that isn’t the only thing he discovers about Count Orlok. According to the film, Thomas Hutter also begins to suspect that Orlok might be a vampire, who came across a photograph of Hutter’s wife, Ellen, and remarked upon her beauty, specifically her neckline. This marked the beginning of his obsession with Ellen, who devises a plan to defeat him.

Upon learning about Orlok’s reality, both Thomas and his wife Ellen begin to read a book about vampires. Therein, Ellen comes across a way to defeat him. And according to the plan, a “pure-hearted” woman will have to willingly offer her blood to Orlok to not only satisfy his thirst but also to end his life as a vampire.

Now, instead of delving into spoilers, we’ll just leave you to guess if Robert Eggers’ 2024 remake has maintained the original storyline, or if he has made certain changes. The cast involved in Robert Eggers’ gothic horror film

Depp is accompanied by the Renfield star Nicholas Hoult portraying Thomas Hutter, Ellen’s husband, caught in the web of Orlok’s dark desires.
