Clevatess Season 3: How Does Klen Return in the Manga?

Season 2 of Clevatess ends with one of the series’ biggest shocks. After defeating Vordein, Klen is ambushed by Jazhak, the notorious hero slayer, who tears out his heart. Since Alicia’s life is connected to Klen’s dark ichor, she also falls into a dormant state. The anime then jumps five years into the future, leaving viewers with a huge question: how can Klen possibly return?

The manga provides a much more interesting answer than a simple resurrection. Klen’s heart is never destroyed. Instead, Jazhak keeps it alive for his own purposes, while Luna grows up and eventually takes on the responsibility of finding Klen and Alicia.

Clevatess: How Klen Returns After That Brutal Season 2 Ending

Klen’s apparent death in the Clevatess Season 2 finale is not the end of his story because Jazhak does something that ultimately becomes crucial to his survival. After Klen is exhausted from his battle with Vordein, Jazhak attacks at exactly the right moment and tears out his core, or heart.

Jazhak is a brutal “hero slayer” and former leader of the Crows, but he is also an opportunist. Rather than destroying such a valuable source of magical energy, he seals Klen’s living heart inside a container and uses it to power his enormous flying vessel. That decision accidentally gives Klen a way back.

Klen is one of the Four Lords of Dark Beasts, so his existence is very different from that of an ordinary human. Even without his physical body, his core remains active. His consciousness continues inside the container, with his condition eventually showing visible signs of life. The heart is therefore less like a corpse and more like a trapped version of Klen waiting to be recovered.

The five-year time skip then completely changes the story. Luna, who was still a baby when Klen disappeared, grows into an energetic and unusually wild child. Instead of living like a normal royal heir, he spends much of his time around the Dark Beasts in Klen’s domain. He effectively becomes the young guardian of the tower and its creatures.

This is where Luna’s growth becomes important rather than simply being a time-skip makeover. Klen had already formed a deep bond with Luna and left him with responsibilities connected to his domain. With Klen and Alicia unable to act, Luna eventually becomes the person who can carry their story forward.

The manga then turns into a hunt for Jazhak and the stolen core. Once Klen’s heart is recovered and freed from its containment, his enormous regenerative ability provides the missing piece. His physical form can be rebuilt from the surviving core, allowing the Beast King to return.

Luna’s role makes the comeback even more satisfying. The early story is largely about Klen protecting and raising Luna. After the five-year jump, the relationship begins to turn around, with Luna becoming the one who takes action to bring Klen back.

Clevatess Season 3: When Could the Anime Return?

As of October 2, 2026, Clevatess Season 3 has not received an official release date or renewal announcement. Season 2 concluded on September 30, 2026, with its 13th episode, “True Hero.”

There is, however, adequate manga material beyond the Season 2 ending. Season 3 would have to handle the five-year time skip, Luna’s transformation, the hunt for Jazhak, the stolen core, and Klen’s eventual restoration. That is a very different story from the first two seasons, and allowing the manga to build up more material could give the anime enough room to adapt it properly.

The five-year jump also makes a future season feel fresh. Luna is no longer the tiny child Klen was protecting, and Klen’s eventual return would carry a different emotional weight because the roles have effectively reversed.

Clevatess Season 2 concluded its 13-episode run by adapting up to Chapter 57 (the close of Volume 11), wrapping up the climax at Solsein and teasing the five-year jump. With the manga currently serialized through Chapter 70 across Volume 13 (via Comic-Walker), there are only about 13 chapters (starting from Chapter 58) of post–time skip material currently available.

At the anime’s standard adaptation rate of roughly 1.6 to 2 chapters per episode, this backlog translates to only about 6 to 8 episodes, meaning Lay-duce and the production committee will likely need the ongoing arc to build up at least another 10 to 15 chapters before a full 13-episode third season becomes viable.

Therefore, for now, fans will have to wait for an official announcement from the production side. But the manga has already answered the most important question raised by the Season 2 finale: Klen does not simply stay dead. His living core becomes the key to his eventual restoration, while Luna grows into the person capable of helping bring him back.

Now the big question: After seeing how Luna grows, and Klen’s return is set up in the manga, are you excited to see their reunion in Clevatess Season 3? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
