Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has switched gears by raising the stakes significantly. The duo of Boruto and Kawaki has become the central focus and the gradual progression is hyping fans up for the final showdown. While the manga is progressing at a steady pace, the anime went on an indefinite hiatus without any updates on its potential return. There’s still some skepticism among fans about the quality of the story.
The manga has improved some aspects of its prequel that could make the potential anime adaptation into a fascinating experience. To placate the fans’ doubts and get recognized as a worthy sequel to Naruto, Two Blue Vortex Anime needs to beat a record set by Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
Records Set By Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War that Could Benefit Boruto
After a decade-long hiatus, Bleach anime returned with a bang. The animation quality and the anime-only additions turned Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War into a great reward for the decade-long wait. With the same rating (9.09) as Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on MyAnimeList, Bleach ranks second to only Frieren. This is an extraordinary achievement. A lot of thought and effort was put into Bleach’s comeback, and it showed in the final product.
In order to be taken seriously, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Anime needs to beat this record or at least match the hype with its potential return. Considering how Bleach: TYBW ranks second, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood ranks third, Boruto will beat both of them if it beats Bleach’s record. For any anime fan, it’s hard to imagine Boruto ranking higher than FMAB. This feat is next to impossible and is bound to cause an uproar, but that’s exactly what Boruto needs to solidify the main theme of the manga.
Here’s What Boruto: Blue Two Vortex Could Do to be Taken Seriously
There are many things that Studio Pierrot did right with Bleach that they could repeat with Boruto. Whenever Boruto: Two Blue Vortex returns, the animation quality should not only be better but it needs to carry a serious tone. The anime so far features vibrant animation, with Two Blue Vortex, they could switch to something that conveys the darker aspects of the manga. Besides the animation, there could be anime-only changes that add to the narrative.
The writing in Two Blue Vortex has arguably gotten better than pre-time-skip. However, the central duo is in the spotlight which sidelines some important characters like Sarada. The anime could add changes that flesh out such characters. Instead of random fillers, the anime could add important details that enrich the narrative. A lot of original changes were added to Bleach: TYBW as well which significantly improved the execution during the final war.
A similar approach, if followed with Boruto, could work wonders. The praise that Two Blue Vortex is getting from fans could be amplified with these changes. Most importantly, Boruto could switch to a seasonal schedule. In the weekly schedule, there are hundreds of episodes that come out every few years and only a few of them are visually interesting, whereas the quality of the rest is mostly subpar.
To ensure that this doesn’t happen with Boruto, a seasonal schedule could help greatly. While following these suggestions won’t guarantee that Boruto will beat Bleach’s record, it’s still something has worked in the past, and it might work Two Blue Vortex as well.
