Black Clover Season 2 is finally bringing the Spade Kingdom’s most terrifying rulers to the screen, and the official site’s Episode 1 preview, titled “War Begins,” confirms the Clover Kingdom’s elite Magic Knights go straight into battle against the Dark Triad from the very first episode.

The Dark Triad isn’t just three scary siblings in matching coats; each one carries a devil strong enough to flatten an entire kingdom alone. Here’s how Dante, Vanica, and Zenon Zogratis stack up once the fights actually get settled.

3 Zenon Zogratis Turns Bone Magic and Spatial Tricks Into Chaos

Among the Zogratis family members, Zenon is the youngest, and he’s arguably the one who scares people most on first impression. His Bone Magic can tear an enemy’s skeleton straight out of their body, and once paired with Beelzebub, he folds space to appear right behind you before you’ve even registered he moved. He’s cold, methodical, and never wastes a single motion in a fight, which is why his showdown with Yuno hits so hard.

Late in that fight, he throws away his own humanity to fuse completely with Beelzebub, and for a moment it genuinely looks like he might flip the outcome. It just isn’t enough to save him in the end. He lands last because he’s the only Dark Triad member who doesn’t survive his final fight – dying settles the argument.

2 Vanica Zogratis Turns Every Battle Into Her Own Personal Playground

Vanica is the middle Zogratis sibling, and she’s easily the most unhinged member of the trio – in the best possible way. Her Blood Magic shapes her own blood into whips, shields, and full siege weapons, and hosting Megicula, one of the nastiest curse devils in the underworld, lets her turn her own disciples into walking bombs.

She doesn’t fight for the Tree of Qliphoth the way Dante does; she wants a genuinely fun fight, which only makes her scarier. Her clash with Noelle at the Heart Kingdom takes everything Noelle and Queen Lolopechka have combined to finally put her down. She edges out Zenon by surviving her defeat, with Megicula lingering as a threat afterward, but Dante’s raw output still outpaces her.

1 Dante Zogratis Rules the Dark Triad With Gravity-Crushing Power

Dante is the oldest Zogratis sibling, and there’s no contest for the top spot once you see what he can do. His Body Magic gives him borderline absurd regeneration, and he hosts Lucifero, one of the three devils who rule the underworld. His Gravity magic, one of the deadliest one-shot abilities in Black Clover, comes into play too, cracking mountains and pinning entire squads of Magic Knights down just from his presence.

He’s also the one running the actual plan behind the Tree of Qliphoth. Magna Swing catches him off guard early with a clever Soul Chain gambit, but once Dante goes all in against Asta and Yami, the gap in strength is obvious. He takes the top spot because Lucifero ranks among the underworld’s three highest devils, and combined with Dante’s regeneration, that power outscales the other two.
