Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of Côte d’Ivoire international Guéla Doué from Racing Strasbourg.
The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract with Leverkusen until 2031.
Die Werkself are reportedly paying €30 million up front for Doué, with the total fee potentially rising to €37.5 million through bonuses.
“By signing Guéla Doué, we have made an excellent addition to our squad in the right-back position. We can look forward to a top-class new signing who fits perfectly into our squad,” said Bayer 04 managing director sport Simon Rolfes.
Guéla Doué, the older brother of Paris Saint-Germain star Désiré Doué, said:
“I had two wonderful years at Racing Strasbourg in France. But now I’d like to make the move to the Bundesliga and join a club that has really impressed me during our talks,” revealed the 23-year-old. “The team is talented and has so many good players – I’m absolutely looking forward to playing with these lads.”
