Although the credit of the director is given to Len Wiseman, an insider with knowledge of the production, tells a different tale. According to speculations, director Chad Stahelski had to reshoot a majority of the movie because Wiseman’s cut simply wasn’t cutting it!

Chad Stahelski Had To Allegedly Reshoot Most of Ballerina

Chad Stahelski is the director that you know and love for directing the John Wick franchise. Known for his action scenes, intense fight sequences, and love for continuous scenes, Stahelski has developed a style for himself and fans are simply loving it.

So naturally, when the trailer for Ballerina dropped, it somehow felt familiar even though Len Wiseman had directed the film. A recent report by The Wrap made things clearer when it was alleged that Stahelski had to reshoot a majority of Ballerina just to create a good enough film!

An insider stated that Len Wiseman’s scenes weren’t cutting it and that’s when Lionsgate called Chad Stahelski for help. Although Ana de Armas‘ schedule would have been extended, Stahelski managed to create an iconic film worthy enough for a release.

Of course Chad had to clean up someone else’s mess. Remember, this film is basically ‘John Wick 3.5′. This story happens before ‘John Wick 4’ and after that film, they can’t have a failure in anything ‘Wick’ related.

Especially with how John Wick: Chapter 4 ended on a high note, the franchise needs to be able to adapt to the world of assassins and killers that Stahelski and David Kolstad created.

The source further added that the reshoot took two to three months in Prague where Ana de Armas had to act again. The insider specifically mentioned that Len Wiseman was not present on the set during these sequences.

Fans Think That Reshoots Are Never a Good Sign

Well, obviously, there are a few exceptions to his case. But on a more general note, we do agree that reshoots are almost never a good sign. Although director Chad Stahelski took the project into his own hands, fans are now fearing the launch of Ballerina.

The news was shared on the social media platform X, where fans heard about the reshoots that Ana de Armas’ Ballerina went through. Naturally, not everyone was amused with the news.

Well, it clearly doesn’t feel like a great time for movies right now. With the recent failure of Joker: Folie à Deux, it seems that Hollywood needs some form of readjustments before releasing ‘peak cinema’ movies.

With Ana de Armas in the lead role and a cameo by Keanu Reeves, Ballerina (much like Joker: Folie à Deux) is an anticipated movie that could turn into a disaster. Hoping for the best, the film is slated for a release date of 6 June 2025 in theaters across the U.S.
