Akira Toriyama’s greatness will be on show once again as Dragon Ball DAIMA, the last work of the creator, is going to expand the universe that has been 40 years in the making. Unlike Dragon Ball Super, which goes heavy on the multiversal battles and broken power levels, DAIMA has returned to the grassroots level of the show.

The series has evoked a sense of nostalgia among the OG fans, who have noticed subtle ideas that close the gap with Dragon Ball GT, which is considered to be non-canon by the fandom. In the first episode of the show, fans learned that King Dabura is gone and King Gomah has claimed the throne of Demon Realm.

If heard carefully, the series talks about the ideas of white wishes and black wishes, an idea that was first featured in GT. Hence, creating a direct link to the show. This connection has given a glimmer of hope to the fans that it might feature one forgotten Super Saiyan transformation that will be exclusive to Broly in DBS.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Closes The Gap With Dragon Ball GT

Akira Toriyama first introduced the concept of the Demon Realm in DBZ, which is quite similar to the realm of gods featured in DBS. Though the realm is not directly accessible to Kakarot and Vegeta, with Whis’ help they are able to achieve interdimensional travels that make GT a part of the canon timeline.

Moreover, DAIMA featured the concept of black wishes, which parallels the idea of Black Star Dragon Balls from the 1996 series. These were believed to be far more powerful and more dangerous than the traditional set of 7 mystical orbs. Since black wishes are comprised of evil wishes, it is possible that dark magic was used to manifest them.

Hence, it is very likely that the 2024 series is building a framework around the idea, and sooner or later it will align with the detested work. Additionally, ScreenRant also shared the post of a now-deleted post from a fan that featured pictures from the 2017 edition of an event called Dragon Ball Tenkaichi Budosai.

Shueisha, the publisher of the series, featured an official timeline that included DB, DBZ, DBS, and DBGT. The picture also featured Gogeta in the SSJ4 transformation and the future descendants of our two protagonists.

As fans would know, GT was aired after the events of DBZ, which in one way or another makes the timeline coherent. Hence, fans are positive that the series might unlock an SSJ transformation that will be exclusive to the Berserk Saiyan.

Dragon Ball DAIMA can Finally Feature Broly in the SSJ4 Transformation

2018 was a huge year for DB fans because the film DBS: Broly finally confirmed that Broly is officially a part of the canon series. The Saiyan had made a few appearances in the franchise, which was enough for him to receive a huge fan following around the world.

Interestingly, the film shared a couple of traits from the SSJ4 transformation. Though ardent fans would know, for the ones who are not accustomed to this transformation, it is quite different from the SSJ1 form. The Saiyan Warrior would look more primal, with long, dark fur covering their body, and a tail.

This form would also tap into the unfiltered power of the Great Ape that the Saiyan can control, making them more agile. Hence, it leads to a massive rise in power levels.

Now, if we remember from the 2018 flick, it was mentioned how Broly’s strength is derived from the wilderness and savagery of the Great Primal Ape, and his appearance kept changing as the movie progressed.

Needless to say, the creator of the series hinted that the Saiyan’s power is closely tied to the SSJ4 form. However, it looks like the wait is probably over because DAIMA is building gaps with the forgotten series and ensuring they make this form canon.
