It would turn out that Afton is behind Garrett’s kidnapping and murder after all these years. In the final fight, Mike fought Afton to save Abby, and Vanessa tried to support him and consequently was injured. Abby finally revealed the dark past of Afton with the animatronics, that are possessed by children Afton had killed. Animatronics attack Afton and drag him away as his suit malfunctions.
