The Aniimo Secret of the Golden Helmet is a hidden scene in the Russet Highlands, and it’s your only route to the Mountain Woods form of Helmut. Sounds too complicated? This guide explains where to find the scene and which Aniimo can help you pull it off, along with what you will unlock afterward.

How to Complete the Secret of the Golden Helmet Scene in Aniimo

Unlike story missions, this scene never shows up in your quest journal, and it carries no marker on the in-game map. That’s why plenty of players run right past it. You’ll find it in the Sanctum: All in Sight area of the Russet Highlands, at roughly (-597, 1628) on community-made maps. It plays out only once, so get ready before you trigger it.

The obstacle is the Devoted Helmut, a sentinel that refuses to let ordinary Pathfinders near the Golden Helmet. The solution is Twining, the mechanic that lets you control one of your Aniimo directly. Approach while Twined, and the guard reacts very differently.

Follow these steps:

• Head to the Sanctum: All in Sight area in the Russet Highlands.
• Twine with any Helmut you’ve caught.
• Walk up to the Golden Helmet while Twined and pick it up.
• A Mountain Woods Helmut then appears; capture it to wrap up the scene.

If the guard still sends you back, it’s worth double-checking that you’re actually Twined before stepping close.

Another way in would be to use an Aniimo with the Cloak ability. Twine with one of them, and you should be able to slip past without being seen. Since the scene only plays once, it’s preferable to bring a healthy team and plenty of capture items before you take the helmet, so you’re not scrambling mid-encounter.

Mountain Woods Helmut Rewards, Stats, and Evolutions

Catching the Mountain Woods Helmut completes the scene and refreshes nearby spawns. From then on, Mountain Woods Helmut spawns regularly near (-582, 1635), while a second site around (-571, 1514) also offers Mountain Woods Rookey, so you can collect extras.

Evolution is where this form earns its keep. From Level 45, your Mountain Woods Helmut can turn into either a Mountain Woods Pawney or Rookey, though each branch has separate conditions. The Pawney branch requires finishing the Sword of Bravery quest. For the Rookey branch, you must own the Unwavering Rampart passive, then beat a designated foe in Defense Mode, with a Counter skill landing the damage. You’ll earn that passive at Trailblazer 1, a rank you’ll reach while working through Elite training.
