All Assault Rifles in Wardogs, Ranked

Wardogs entered Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026, and players are already wondering which rifle deserves their cash the most. Fortunately, we have ranked all eight assault rifles in the current build, from the preferred FAL and M4 to the budget-friendly T-21.

8 KH-2002

The KH-2002 is a free bullpup that fires at 700 RPM at 715 m/s, exactly like the A-91 and Bushmaster M17S. Since all three rifles tie on paper, their order is a tiebreaker, and this one lands last because it offers nothing that the higher-ranked rifles like the A-91 or T-21 don’t already do better.

Feel free to run it if you prefer how it feels, because there’s no stat penalty for doing so, but no advantage either.

7 Bushmaster M17S

Another free rifle, the Bushmaster M17S shares the M4’s 28-damage rounds but pairs them with a 715 m/s muzzle velocity and about 300 meters of useful range. That keeps it in close-to-medium territory. Treat it as a practice tool for learning maps and recoil, then move on once you can afford a T-21 or better.

6 A-91

Free and compact, the A-91 is a bullpup that fires at 700 RPM at 715 m/s, matching the other free rifles. That bullet speed keeps it at mid-range, so avoid long-distance duels. It’s a solid way to stay armed while you save money.

5 AK74

At $1,600, the AK74 costs $1,200 less than an M4. It deals 26 damage at 650 RPM, slightly behind the 28-damage 5.56 rifles. That gap is tolerable when you die often and want a gun that’s painless to rebuy.

It ends up becoming a sensible upgrade for anyone who has outgrown the free rifles.

4 Galil

The Galil costs $2,200 and fires 5.56 rounds at 950 m/s, the highest bullet speed of any rifle on this list, which helps when tracking distant targets. The trade-off is a 650 RPM fire rate at 28 damage, and for $600 more, the M4 shoots noticeably faster. Choose the Galil only if flatter bullet flight matters most to you.

3 T-21

At $600, the T-21 costs less than a quarter of an M4. It matches the M4’s 28 damage and 910 m/s bullet speed and gives up only a little fire rate, at 750 RPM against 800. Its forgiving full-auto handling lets newer players get kills without perfect recoil control. Use it while you build up cash, then graduate to a FAL or M4 loadout.

2 M4: Best All Rounder

For dependable performance in ordinary infantry fights, the M4 is the most polished 5.56 rifle at $2,800. It has the highest fire rate of the eight at 800 RPM, along with 28 damage per round and 910 m/s bullet speed, and it takes attachments well. At less than half the FAL’s price, it’s also far easier to replace after a bad round.

1 FAL

If it wasn’t obvious by now, the FAL is the clear winner. This $6,500 assault rifle deals 60 damage per hit, more than double any other rifle here. It fires at 650 RPM at 840 m/s and stays effective out to 800 meters.

Landing fewer shots per kill means less damage lost to armor and distance falloff. It weighs 4.3 kg and costs a lot, so it suits players who can afford to lose it now and then.

In the ranking, we have compared damage per shot, fire rate, bullet speed, and price. Weapons are bought per life, so value counts almost as much as raw power. It’s important to note that the developers constantly patch the content in the game, so expect these numbers to shift.
