SUMMARY

  • Jay Cutler isn't the most liked sports personalities despite having a relatively successful career in the NFL as a quarterback for the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Miami Dolphins.
  • While people aren't huge fans of his attitude, Cutler might also be disliked for being a Donald Trump supporter.
  • The former NFL player was recently arrested for DUI, possession of a gun while under the influence, and rear-ending another car in Franklin, Tennessee.

Jay Cutler, a famed NFL star who played for the Chicago Bears for a good chunk of his career has never really had a great reputation under the public eye for different reasons. During his career of over a decade, the 41-year-old former quarterback played for the Denver Broncos before being traded to the Bears, and then played his final year with the Miami Dolphins.

Outside of the sport, Cutler is best known for his relationship with American television personality Kristin Cavallari, who is also known for her contributions to the fashion industry as well. Their relationship was also filled with a ton of ups and downs while it lasted, but the couple ended things in 2020 (via PEOPLE).

Cutler also had an odd love-hate relationship with his fans and according to NFL enthusiasts, he isn’t the most liked athlete either. While some believe it’s because of his nonchalant attitude, the hate he receives could also be linked with his connection to Trump Donald.

Donald Trump, a real estate tycoon turned politician is one of the most controversial personalities in the world at the moment. Trump served as the 45th President of the United States but was impeached twice in a single term due to “abuse of power” and “obstruction of the House impeachment investigation,” according to an official government report

Regardless, Jay Cutler has repeatedly expressed his support towards Trump, especially during the 2016 Presidential campaign in which the former US leader overthrew Hillary Clinton to assume his position at the White House.

In 2016, Cutler expressed that he was “pleased” with the outcome of the elections stating that he had been a supporter of the politician for a while, possibly years before he ran for president (via ESPN).

The former NFL star, who stands as the Bears’ all-time leading passer also expressed his love for the Republican when golfer Jack Nicklaus expressed his disappointment in the manner Trump was being criticized by the public. He most recently posted a picture of the former president on X saying “Trump 2024. Can’t stop him.”

Cutler isn’t necessarily wrong for supporting Trump, who is currently running for President once again. Each person is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions.

While there isn’t necessarily a rock-solid reason to spew hate against the former NFL player, news of his recent arrest could certainly damage how the public perceives him. According to a report issued by ESPN, Jay Cutler was arrested on October 17, 2024, after a crash that occurred in Franklin, Tennessee.

Unfortunately, the father of three children whom he had with Kristin Cavallari, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a loaded gun while under the influence, and “failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision and implied consent”.

Cutler had apparently rear-ended a car in Franklin and officers sensed a strong smell of alcohol from him. It was stated that he was incoherent and that his eyes were also bloodshot.

ESPN reported that he was taken into custody at the Williamson County Jail, but received a $5,000 bond before being released hours after the incident.
