So as the winter sets in, there is no better time to have a hot cup of cocoa and cozy up with a blanket to watch these upcoming and anticipated TV shows. Without any delay, here are 5 must-watch series, from action to drama to comedy, coming to Hulu in January 2025!

1 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Reboot)- January 3

If you are a fan of architecture and interior design, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is just for you. A reboot of the popular American reality TV series of the same name and a spin-off of Extreme Makeover, the 2025 season will feature new locations and family and a detailed look into how the Extreme Makeover team will transform their home.

Starring Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, the duo will use their world-renowned expertise to specifically create spaces for the clients. As usual, assisted by a team of equally brilliant and talented contractors and builders and more, it will feature some interesting projects and spaces that are sure to leave audiences awe-inspired. With the first episode airing on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 8 PM on ABC, it can be streamed on Hulu from January 3, 2025.

2 Going Dutch – January 3

If you are a fan of comedies, then Going Dutch is just the match for you. A sitcom created by Joel Church-Cooper, it contains a brilliant cast headed by Denis Leary. Other cast members include Taylor Misiak, Danny Pudi, Hal Cumpston, and more.

The show features a loudmouth U.S. Army Colonel aka Leary as Colonel Patrick Quinn who gets in trouble and is sent to a Netherlands base with no military purpose following an ‘unfiltered rant.’ Now stuck, he tries to restore order among a group of military misfits who lack professionalism and discipline and are basically the least important army base in the world.

Now in charge of a base with no guns or weapons after serving for years in warzones across the world, he tries his best to lead them with the help of his estranged daughter, who is also the base’s interim commander Captain Maggie Quinn (played by Taylor Misiak). Premiering on Fox on January 2, it will be available to be streamed on Hulu on January 3, 2025.

3 Doc – January 8

In the history of entertainment, there have been all kinds of medical dramas from Grey’s Anatomy to the famous House. Adding to this list is the anticipated American medical drama series, Doc. Adapted from the acclaimed Italian series, Doc — Nelle tue mani, it promises an emotionally gripping narrative centered around resilience and rediscovery.

The series follows the life of Dr. Amy Elias, played by Molly Parker, who is the chief of internal medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. After having a traumatic brain injury that leaves her with no memory of the past eight years, she struggles to adapt to this fragmented reality while getting back into the medical field. However, it is not easy since the past she no longer can remember includes a divorce and a life-altering tragedy.

Determined to reclaim her position as a skilled physician while rebuilding her life and relationships, the show boasts an impressive cast and a promising storyline, making it a must-watch. The first episode will premiere on January 7 on Fox and will be available for streaming on Hulu from January 8, 2025.

4 Paradise – January 28

A Hulu original drama series created by Dan Fogelman, Paradise is a show full of suspense, drama, and intrigue, poised to attract fans who love gripping and suspenseful narratives. Featuring a stellar cast that includes Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden, the story unfolds in a seemingly tranquil and affluent community housing some of the world’s most powerful and affluent figures.

However, this all comes down when a shocking murder occurs, triggering a high-stakes investigation. Brown stars as Xavier Collins, the head security of former Marsden’s President Cal Bradford, who is found dead and Xavier becomes the prime focus since he was the last person to see Cal alive. Through what seems to be a series of flashbacks, the series delves into Xavier and Cal’s complicated relationship, while the supporting actors add to the layers of drama and suspense.

Launching with three episodes at once on Hulu on January 28, 2025, subsequent episodes of Paradise will premiere every Tuesday on the platform.

5 Scamanda – January 31

The widely popular Scamanda podcast is making its way to the small screen in 2025. Based on the No. 1 true-crime podcast, ABC is giving it a makeover as a docuseries, which will bring the shocking story of Amanda Riley—a wife, mother, and Christian blogger—into vivid detail.

Riley captured the hearts of thousands when she started blogging about battling stage 3 blood cancer, inspiring compassion, support, and financial donations from her followers. However, the cancer was all a lie and an anonymous tip to the executive producer Nancy Moscatiello sparked a five-year investigation that uncovered Riley’s deception.

While Riley is now in jail, Scamanda will dive even deeper into her life and lies by featuring interviews with her former friends law enforcement officials, and more. It also includes exclusive communications between Riley and podcast host Charlie Webster, as well as materials from Moscatiello’s investigation (via US Weekly).

It will premiere on January 30, 2025, at 9 PM on ABC and will be available to be streamed on Hulu on January 31, 2025.
