30 Co-Stars Who Allegedly Hated Each Other and Couldn’t Stand One Another in Real Life

9 hours ago 15

From Method actors taking things way too far to divas clashing over everything from screen time to coffee preferences, these co-star feuds are the stuff of Hollywood legend. We’re talking real punches thrown during fight scenes and some shade-throwing that’s so epic it deserves its own Oscar category.

So, grab your popcorn and get comfortable, because we’re about to spill some piping hot tea about 30 pairs of co-stars who proved that sometimes the best acting happens when the cameras stop rolling – like pretending you don’t want to strangle your scene partner!

1 Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City)

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall in a still from Sex and the City (1998-2004)Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall in a still from Sex and the City (1998-2004) | Credits: Darren Star Productions, HBO Entertainment

While their characters shared cosmos and secrets on screen, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall were reportedly never besties in real life. The tension apparently started brewing during the show’s original run when Parker, as lead actress and producer, earned a significantly higher salary than her co-stars.

Things really hit the fan during negotiations for the third movie, with Cattrall being painted as the “diva” for her demands. But the real drama exploded on social media when Cattrall publicly told SJP she “didn’t need her love or support” following the death of Cattrall’s brother.

The bad blood ran so deep that Cattrall flat-out refused to return for the revival series And Just Like That…, leading the writers to ship Samantha off to London. Fans still can’t help but wonder: was the show’s portrayal of ride-or-die friendship all just smoke and mirrors?

2 Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious)

Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel in a still from Fast & Furious 6 (2013)Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel in a still from Fast & Furious 6 (2013) | Credits: Universal Pictures

Talk about a clash of the titans! When you put two of Hollywood’s biggest action stars (literally and figuratively) in one franchise, you’re either going to get magic or mayhem. In this case, we got both! The beef between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel became public knowledge when Johnson reportedly took to Instagram in 2016 with a now infamous (and deleted) post calling out certain candy a*s male co-stars. While he didn’t name names, it didn’t take a detective to figure out who he was talking about.

Sources close to production spilled the tea that the two alpha males butted heads over everything, from work ethic to who got the best camera angles. Things got so heated that they couldn’t even film scenes together, forcing producers to get creative with filming schedules. Johnson later admitted that he regretted making the feud public but also stood by his feelings.

The drama got so intense that Johnson sat out The Fate of the Furious main shoot and only appeared in scenes shot separately. And let’s not even get started on those passive-aggressive interviews they both gave about tough love and showing up late to set.” Fast and Furious? More like slow-burning and petty!

3 Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing)

Nobody puts Baby in a corner, but apparently, Patrick Swayze sometimes wished he could! While Dirty Dancing gave us one of the most iconic dance lifts in cinema history, the path to that perfect moment was anything but smooth. In his memoir The Time of My Life, Swayze spilled some serious tea about working with Jennifer Grey, describing how her emotional nature and tendency to burst into giggles during serious scenes drove him up the wall.

She seemed particularly emotional, sometimes bursting into tears if someone criticized her. Other times, she slipped into silly moods, forcing us to do scenes over and over again when she’d start laughing… I didn’t have a whole lot of patience for doing multiple retakes.

But here’s the kicker – their opposing personalities actually created that electric on-screen chemistry we all fell in love with! As Swayze himself admitted later in his memoir, Grey’s emotional vulnerability balanced perfectly with his intense discipline, even though it made them want to tear their hair out during filming.

This was the first time she and I had a meaningful scene together, and I think it endeared me to her after all the friction we had. The funny thing is, most of that scene ended up being cut. But even in the shorter version that made it into the film, it was clear to anyone watching that Jennifer and I had chemistry together.

Talk about suffering for your art!

4 Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy)

Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey in a still from Grey's Anatomy (2005-Present)Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey in a still from Grey’s Anatomy (2005-Present) | Credits: Shondaland, Lionsgate Television, 20th Television

Talk about needing a doctor to heal these wounds! The tension between these two Seattle Grace surgeons got so intense it actually led to one of TV’s biggest scandals of the 2000s. What started as on-set arguments eventually exploded into a physical altercation that would make the drama in the OR look tame! According to multiple crew members and writer Harry Werksman, on one of the occasions, Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey got into a heated fight that turned physical.

But wait, it gets worse! According to Us Weekly, during the altercation, Washington reportedly used a homophobic slur. The drama got so toxic that ABC didn’t renew Washington’s contract, effectively firing him from one of TV’s biggest shows. Washington tried to defend himself at the Golden Globes (spoiler alert: it didn’t go well).

The cherry on top of this medical drama sundae? Years later, Washington still maintained he was wrongfully terminated, while Dempsey kept McDreamy-level quiet about the whole thing.

5 Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams (The Notebook)

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in a still from The Notebook (2004)Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in a still from The Notebook (2004) | Credits: New Line Cinema

Get ready for a plot twist that would make Nicholas Sparks himself gasp! While Noah and Allie’s love story had us all ugly-crying into our popcorn, the real-life dynamic between Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams was initially more horror story than romance. Director Nick Cassavetes, in an interview with VH1, dropped this bombshell: during filming, Gosling reportedly stormed into his office and demanded,

Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me? I can’t. I can’t do it with her. I’m just not getting anything from this.

The tension got so bad that producers had to stage an impromptu therapy session between the two stars, letting them air out their grievances while a poor producer just sat there watching the drama unfold.

But wait for the twist – all that friction apparently created some serious sparks because they ended up dating for two years after the film wrapped! Talk about life imitating art… eventually. Their love story had more ups and downs than the movie itself, proving sometimes real life is even more dramatic than fiction!

6 Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio (Romeo + Juliet)

Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio in a still from Romeo + Juliet (1996)Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio in a still from Romeo + Juliet (1996) | Credits: 20th Century Studios

Star-crossed lovers? More like star-crossed haters! While they brought Shakespeare’s iconic romance to vibrant, modern life on screen, behind the scenes was a totally different story. According to multiple sources on set, 17-year-old Claire Danes reportedly found 21-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio‘s constant pranking and goofy behavior completely insufferable. Meanwhile, DiCaprio reportedly thought Danes was way too uptight and serious about everything.

But here’s the thing – their total opposite personalities actually worked in their favor on screen. That frustrated chemistry you see in the famous fish tank scene? Totally real! Sometimes they say great art comes from conflict, and this modern classic definitely proves that point!

7 Bette Davis and Joan Crawford (What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?)

Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in a still from What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962)Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in a still from What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) | Credits: Warner Bros. Pictures

Now THIS is the mother of all Hollywood feuds, darlings! These two legendary divas took method acting to a whole new level when they played bitter rivals in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? – because they genuinely couldn’t stand each other!

The hatred was so real that there were alleged reports of Bette Davis kicking Joan Crawford in the head during filming and Crawford making herself heavier for scenes where Davis had to drag her across the floor. The feud started way before the movie, with both actresses fighting over men, roles, and Oscar nominations for decades.

The whole situation got so dramatic that Ryan Murphy made an entire series about it called Feud – and honestly, the real story was even juicier than what we saw on TV!

8 Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road)

Fury Road (2015)Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in a still from Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) | Credits: Warner Bros. Pictures

Buckle up, because this behind-the-scenes drama is wilder than any car chase in the movie! Remember all that tension between Max and Furiosa? Well, turns out it wasn’t just good acting! The drama between Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy got so intense that she reportedly demanded producer Denise Di Novi be brought to set specifically to mediate between them – imagine needing a referee just to get through your workday!

Years later, Hardy actually manned up and apologized to director George Miller, admitting he was totally in over his head and that his behavior wasn’t exactly Oscar-worthy.

Tom Hardy Apologizes to Charlize Theron for Bad Behavior on 'Mad Max' Set

At least all that real-life animosity translated into some epic on-screen chemistry, right?

9 William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy (Star Trek)

William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy in a still from Star Trek (1966-1969)William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy in a still from Star Trek (1966-1969) | Credits: Desilu Productions (1966–1968), Paramount Television (1968–1969), Norway Corporation

Beam us up, because this tea is too hot for space! While Kirk and Spock were giving us the greatest bromance in sci-fi history, the actors behind them were having their own space opera behind the scenes. Picture this: William Shatner, our beloved Captain Kirk, allegedly counting his lines and throwing mini tantrums whenever he thought Spock (Leonard Nimoy) was getting more attention. Talk about boldly going where no ego has gone before!

But here’s where it gets really juicy – they actually became best friends later in life! That is, until Shatner made a Star Trek documentary without getting Nimoy’s blessing, effectively torpedoing their friendship faster than a photon blast. The final frontier of their feud? Shatner reportedly skipped Nimoy’s funeral in 2015 for a “charity commitment,” causing Trekkies worldwide to lose their minds. Way to keep it classy, Captain!

10 Kenny Baker and Anthony Daniels (Star Wars)

Kenny Baker (the man inside R2-D2) and Anthony Daniels (our beloved C-3PO) couldn’t stand each other. Baker, who sadly passed away in 2016, spent years calling Daniels “the rudest man I’ve ever met” – and, in Hollywood, that’s saying something! The 3’8″ actor alleged that Daniels would straight-up pretend he didn’t exist on set.

The cherry on top of this intergalactic sundae? Their characters are literally programmed to be friends forever in the movies.

11 Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones (Batman Forever)

The tension between these two stars came straight from Jim Carrey‘s own mouth, and it’s a doozy. Picture this: the night before a big scene together, Carrey spots Tommy Lee Jones at a fancy restaurant and decides to say hello. Jones’ response? He got up, walked over to Carrey, and reportedly delivered this ice-cold line: I cannot sanction your buffoonery.” Talk about a villain origin story!

According to Carrey, who spilled this tea on Norm Macdonald’s show, Jones straight-up hated him with the burning passion of a thousand Bat-signals.

12 Bill Murray and Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels)

This feud is proof that even angels can raise hell! According to a 2008 post in The Movie Blog, during filming of the 2000 action flick, Bill Murray reportedly stopped a scene dead in its tracks to point at Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu, saying,

I get why you’re here, and you’ve got talent… but what in the hell are you doing here? You can’t act!

Guess which Angel he was pointing at during that last part? Liu supposedly didn’t take this sitting down – the same post on The Movie Blog says she started throwing punches at Murray right there on set! The production had to be shut down for the day while everyone cooled off.

Murray’s version of events is different (isn’t it always?), but whatever went down was bad enough that he was replaced by Bernie Mac in the sequel. Years later, Liu finally addressed the incident in 2021, saying Murray was using “inexcusable and unacceptable” language toward her. Murray’s response? He claimed it was all a “misunderstanding.”

13 Wesley Snipes and Patton Oswalt (Blade: Trinity)

Trinity (2004)Wesley Snipes in a still from Blade: Trinity (2004) | Credits: New Line Cinema

Hold onto your vampire-hunting gear, because this behind-the-scenes drama is wild! According to Patton Oswalt, working with Wesley Snipes on Blade: Trinity was like dealing with a supernatural entity of pure chaos. Snipes allegedly would only communicate with the director and other actors through Post-it notes signed from “Blade.”

 Trinity"

The crown jewel of this disaster? Oswalt claims Snipes tried to strangle director David Goyer, leading to Goyer hiring bikers as security guards. Snipes even refused to open his eyes for the morgue scene, so they had to CGI them in post-production! Looks like some behind-the-scenes stories are scarier than any vampire movie!

14 Sharon Stone and William Baldwin (Sliver)

Sharon Stone and William Baldwin in a still from Sliver (1993)Sharon Stone and William Baldwin in a still from Sliver (1993) | Credits: Paramount Pictures

If you thought the erotic thriller Sliver was steamy, wait until you hear about the real-life drama! Sharon Stone and William Baldwin‘s hatred for each other was so intense that it actually made its way into their kissing scenes – and not in a good way. Sources claim Stone was so disgusted by Baldwin that she would actually wash out her mouth with mouthwash after every single kiss! But the cherry on top? During one particularly heated scene, Stone allegedly bit Baldwin’s tongue. Stone later denied those allegations.

The tension got so bad that Stone’s camp started spreading rumors about Baldwin’s unprofessional behavior, while Baldwin moved to social media and stated “I have so much dirt on her it would make her head spin but I’ve kept quiet.”

Not sure why Sharon Stone keep talking about me all these years later?

Does she still have a crush on me or is she still hurt after all these years because I shunned her advances?

— Billy Baldwin (@BillyBaldwin) March 12, 2024

The funniest part? The marketing team tried to spin their obvious hatred as “s*xual chemistry.” Nice try, Hollywood!

15 Richard Gere and Debra Winger (An Officer and a Gentleman)

Richard Gere and Debra Winger in a still from An Officer and a Gentleman (1982)Richard Gere and Debra Winger in a still from An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) | Credits: Paramount Pictures, Lorimar Television

Up where we belong? More like down where we can’t stand each other! The iconic romantic drama might have swept audiences off their feet, but behind the scenes, Debra Winger and Richard Gere were about as romantic as a court martial. Winger publicly called Gere a brick wall.”

Winger hated making the movie, and had said that it was not her type of film. The tension did not stop with Gere, Winger even labelled the film’s director Taylor Hackford as an “animal.” Years later, in an interview with Daily Mail, Winger admits that her behavior was as such because she was insecure and “took it out on everybody!”

She even said in an interview with The Telegraph that she:

…Probably could have come up with something nicer. [When] I run into him he says, ‘Are you still saying those things about me?’

16 Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte (I Love Trouble)

Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte in a still from I love Trouble (1994)Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte in a still from I love Trouble (1994) | Credits: Touchstone Pictures, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Well, the movie title certainly wasn’t lying about the trouble part! This 1994 romantic comedy turned out to be about as romantic as a root canal, thanks to the epic hatred between its leads. Julia Roberts, America’s Sweetheart, didn’t exactly sugar-coat her feelings when she called Nolte “completely disgusting” in a New York Times interview.

The on-set tension got so nuclear that they reportedly ended up filming most of their scenes separately with stand-ins – imagine hating someone so much you can’t even fake being in love with them for a paycheck!

17 Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere (The Lords of Flatbush)

Sylvester Stallone in a still from The Lords of Flatbush (1974)Sylvester Stallone in a still from The Lords of Flatbush (1974) | Credits: Columbia Pictures

Hold onto your leather jackets, because this feud is greasier than a 1950s diner! Before they were household names, Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere were almost cast as tough-guy buddies in this 1974 film. Stallone in an interview with Ain’t It Cool News talks about his experience.

Richard Gere in a still from Pretty Woman (1990)Richard Gere in a still from Pretty Woman (1990) | Credits: Touchstone Pictures, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Apparently, the role of Chico (played by Perry King), was originally supposed to be played by Gere, but it did not work out. Stallone says in that interview,

He would strut around in his oversized motorcycle jacket like he was the baddest knight at the round table. One day, during an improv, he grabbed me (we were simulating a fight scene) and got a little carried away. I told him in a gentle fashion to lighten up, but he was completely in character and impossible to deal with.

The straw that broke the camel’s back in this scenario is when they were taking a break to have their food and some greasy mustard allegedly dropped on to Stallone’s thigh. Reacting to this, Stallone apparently elbowed Gere and the director had to choose between Stallone and Gere, and evidently, the director chose Rocky.

18 Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill)

If you thought the drama on One Tree Hill was intense, you should’ve seen what was happening behind the scenes! Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush went from teen dream couple to “please don’t make us shoot together” faster than you can say “Ravens win!” After their whirlwind romance led to marriage in 2005, things went south quicker than expected.

The marriage lasted about as long as one of Lucas’s basketball games – five months! But here’s the kicker: they had to keep playing lovebirds on screen for years afterward. Talk about awkward! Bush later spilled the tea on Andy Cohen‘s radio show, saying she felt pressured into the marriage in the first place: “Because how do you let everybody down?”

Why Sophia Bush felt pressured into marrying young during her years on One Tree Hill

In one of the episodes of What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Bush mentions:

I actually think it’s interesting that when people split in a way that’s unpleasant, they usually just go on quite literally hating each other — or the person in my situation hates the other person

Bush later apologized on Twitter (now X) for that saying her words were misunderstood by the people, and she was actually making fun of herself.

And if all the years that have passed haven’t made it WILDLY clear that we’re all grown ups who’ve become the best versions of ourselves, then I just don’t know what to say. And PS, if my teasing MYSELF on the radio today — for my past — hurt anyone’s feelings, I am sorry. https://t.co/K3VkUVP3pk

— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) June 13, 2018

All that can be said is that whatever happened between these two on that set is all water under the bridge now.

19 Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren (A Countess from Hong Kong)

Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren in a still from A Countess from Hong Kong (1967)Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren in a still from A Countess from Hong Kong (1967) | Credits: Universal Pictures

Buckle up, buttercup, because this old Hollywood tea is still piping hot! When cinema legends Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren teamed up for Charlie Chaplin‘s final film as director, it should have been magic. Instead, it turned into a masterclass in misconduct! During a scene together, Loren felt something that definitely wasn’t in the script – Brando’s wandering hands!

The Italian goddess wasn’t having any of it. In her memoir, she revealed that,

All of a sudden, he put his hands on me. I turned in all tranquillity and blew in his face like a cat stroked the wrong way and said, ‘Don’t you ever dare to do that again. Never again!’ As I pulverized him with my eyes, he seemed small, defenceless, almost a victim of his own notoriety.

Did someone say queen behavior? Meanwhile, Brando would reportedly complain about everything from the script to Loren’s breath smelling like a dinosaur, probably just to be petty. The movie flopped harder than a fish out of water, but Loren had the last laugh – she’s still celebrated as a boundary-setting icon.

20 Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth (Beverly Hills, 90210)

Welcome to Beverly Hills, 90210 – where the hair was big, the drama was bigger, and the feuds were enormous! Allegedly, Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth got into a fight after a prank. Garth spoke up in her memoir, Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde, revealing that they did love each other but there were times where they:

…wanted to claw each other’s eyes out.

Years later, the two actresses buried the hatchet when they reunited for the reboot, with Garth admitting they’re now like sisters. Well, yeah – sisters who once wanted to murder each other!

21 James Franco and Tyrese Gibson (Annapolis)

Tyrese Gibson and James Franco in a still from Annapolis (2006)Tyrese Gibson and James Franco in a still from Annapolis (2006) | Credits: Touchstone Pictures, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Hold onto your boxing gloves, because this behind-the-scenes drama hits harder than any punch thrown in the movie! During the filming of 2006’s Annapolis, James Franco‘s method acting apparently went from dedicated to straight-up dangerous. Tyrese Gibson claims Franco took their boxing scenes way too seriously.

Gibson was so fed up that he went public with his complaints, telling Elle magazine:

ELLE: Imagine that one day on the set of Transformers, Michael Bay had told you that for a scene, you were going to blow up a celebrity’s house while he was at the grocery store. Who would you choose?

TYRESE: James Franco.

Franco later on apologized for him behavior in an interview with GQ magazine, saying that he was “probably a jerk” to Gibson on the set.

22 Charlie Sheen and Selma Blair (Anger Management)

Charlie Sheen and Selma Blair in a still from Anger Management (2012-2014)Charlie Sheen and Selma Blair in a still from Anger Management (2012-2014) | Credits: FX Networks

The irony of drama on a show called Anger Management! This feud is proof that sometimes reality is way better than fiction. When Selma Blair reportedly complained to executives about Charlie Sheen‘s work ethic (or lack thereof), she probably didn’t expect to get a text message from Charlie himself saying she was fired! That’s right – he reportedly fired his co-star via text.

Charlie Sheen Feuds with Selma Blair! Anger Management in Jeopardy in Light of Recent Co-Star Clash

And that’s not the end. Sheen allegedly called Blair a “c***” and refused to shoot if she showed up on set. He even gave FX an ultimatum, it’s either Sheen or Blair. Considering Sheen was making bank for the network, guess who won that showdown?

23 Jamie Foxx and LL Cool J (Any Given Sunday)

Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx, and LL Cool J in a still from Any Given Sunday (1999)Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx, and LL Cool J in a still from Any Given Sunday (1999) | Credits: Warner Bros.

When method acting goes TOO far! The tension between these two stars got so real during Oliver Stone‘s football drama that it literally turned into a fistfight! During a scene where their characters were supposed to get into a heated argument, LL Cool J allegedly got too physical, and Jamie Foxx responded by landing a real punch. Talk about unnecessary roughness!

Jamie Foxx Got Into a Fight With LL Cool J on the Set of “Any Given Sunday” (2017)

The situation escalated so badly that the Miami-Dade Police were called to the set. Years later, both actors buried the hatchet, with Foxx saying how they laugh about it now. But those days on the set was a nightmare for everyone involved.

24 Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep (Kramer vs. Kramer)

Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep in a still from Kramer vs. Kramer (1979)Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep in a still from Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) | Credits: Stanley Jaffe Productions

If you thought the divorce in Kramer vs. Kramer was messy, wait until you hear about what went down behind the scenes! Dustin Hoffman, taking method acting to problematic new heights, decided the best way to get an emotional performance out of Meryl Streep was to reportedly slap her across the face without warning. Streep tells The New York Times:

This was my first movie, and it was my first take in my first movie, and he just slapped me.

Hoffman later revealed in the Huffington Post that the reason he was acting out on Streep might have been because he was going through a divorce at the same time and the lines between real and reel were somewhat blurred for him.

Streep revealed that Hoffman would physically and mentally provoke her to get “authentic” reactions. He even shattered a wine glass next to her head during one scene – that reaction you see in the movie? Totally real terror!

What made things even worse (as mentioned by Michael Schulman, the author of unauthorized biography Becoming Meryl Streep) is that Hoffman kept whispering John Cazale‘s (her partner who had just died of cancer) name during the court scene to get more reaction out of her.

Years later, when asked about the experience, Streep diplomatically called it “overstepping.” Girl, that’s like calling the Titanic a “minor boating incident!”

25 Debra Winger and Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment)

Debra Winger and Shirley MacLaine in a still from Terms of Endearment (1983)Debra Winger and Shirley MacLaine in a still from Terms of Endearment (1983) | Credits: Paramount Pictures

Talk about mother-daughter drama! The tension between these two powerhouses during Terms of Endearment was so legendary that it probably helped them nail those emotional scenes. Shirley MacLaine and Debra Winger played a combative mother and daughter on screen, but apparently, the real friction happened when the cameras stopped rolling!

According to MacLaine’s 1995 memoir, My Lucky Stars: A Hollywood Memoir via People, Winger was a nightmare to work with and even (allegedly) passed gas in her face during one scene! MacLaine even compared their outfits when they first met and, as they say, first impressions last long.

How Debra Winger Farted in Shirley MacLaine’s Face Causing a FEUD?

The cherry on top? Both actresses got Oscar nominations for their roles, with MacLaine taking home the win. During her acceptance speech, MacLaine infamously quipped, I deserve this – which many took as a dig at Winger.

26 Pierce Brosnan and Teri Hatcher (Tomorrow Never Dies)

Pierce Brosnan and Teri Hatcher in a still from Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)Pierce Brosnan and Teri Hatcher in a still from Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) | Credits: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, United Artists, United International Pictures

Looks like James Bond met his match in more ways than one! This 007 drama started when Teri Hatcher kept showing up late to set, driving Pierce Brosnan absolutely bonkers. Our favorite Bond was reportedly so frustrated that he’d storm off set muttering things! But here’s the plot twist – Hatcher was late because she was pregnant and had morning sickness!

Brosnan felt guilty when he finally found out the real reason for her tardiness. He later admitted: “I must admit I let slip a few words which weren’t very nice. I apologize for them.” Talk about a spy who came in from the cold shoulder!

It is even rumored that Hatcher slapped Brosnan hard in that scene deliberately. Again, a rumor that neither party chooses to confirm or deny.

27 Russell Crowe and Oliver Reed (Gladiator)

Are you not entertained by this drama? Because you should be! The tension between these two intense actors on the set of Gladiator was almost as epic as the movie itself. Russell Crowe has said that he never really had a good relationship with Oliver Reed. He told GQ magazine:

He has visited me in dreams and asked me to talk kindly of him. So I should… but we never had a pleasant conversation.

Adding fuel to the fire, Reed’s notorious drinking habits (allegedly) caused further friction between the two as Crowe was not appreciative of the behavior that Reed exhibited when he was drunk. Sadly, Reed passed away during production, and Crowe showed his respect by ensuring Reed’s final performance made it to screen as perfectly as possible.

28 America Ferrera and Lindsay Lohan (Ugly Betty)

Allegedly, the lead of the show, America Ferrera, and Lindsay Lohan did not get along while working on Ugly Betty. Even Lohan’s six-episode arc got cut down to four! Apparently, (as told by a production source) Lohan’s diva behavior drove everyone nuts.

Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people. She smoked 24/7, and after she left, they had to re-paint her dressing room it was such a mess

The source also mentioned that Lohan’s team painted a different picture where Ferrera was the one who was jealous of Lohan’s fame. Well, there are two sides to every coin.

29 Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy (Lawless)

Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy in a still from Lawless (2012)Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy in a still from Lawless (2012) | Credits: The Weinstein Company, FilmNation Entertainment, Alliance Communications

During the filming of Lawless, Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy took their roles as feuding brothers a little too seriously. The tension culminated in an alleged off-screen fistfight that ended with Hardy getting knocked down several flights of stairs – though both actors later tried to play it off as a “brotherly wrestle.”

Although the knocking-out aspect of the fight was disproved by the director John Hillcoat himself, he also added that there was definitely a fight between the two which did not escalate too much.

Now, years later, there is no animosity between the two. But whatever went down on the sets, does not sound friendly.

Now this is a story all about how the original Aunt Viv got flipped-turned upside down! The beef between Janet Hubert and Will Smith was so legendary that it lasted longer than the show’s entire run! After three seasons, Hubert was suddenly replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid, and the ensuing drama was fresher than any Prince!

The feud got so nasty that Hubert called Smith an “egomaniac” and blamed him for her exit, while Smith claimed she was just jealous of his success.

Janet Hubert, original Aunt Viv of 'Fresh Prince,' opens up about Will Smith's apology and more

But here’s the twist that nobody saw coming – after 27 years of shade-throwing, they finally buried the hatchet during the 2020 reunion special. There were tears, hugs, and apologies all around.

(BONUS: There are alleged reports of Leighton Meester and Blake Lively not getting along on the sets of Gossip Girl. These are just rumors floating around but imagine if the ultimate friendship goals, Blair and Serena, were not besties in real life?)

Well, there you have it, folks – proof that sometimes the real drama happens when the cameras stop rolling! What’s particularly fascinating is how many of these feuding pairs managed to create amazing on-screen chemistry despite wanting to strangle each other between takes. It just goes to show that sometimes the best acting comes from pretending you don’t hate someone’s guts!

Some of these feuds ended in heartwarming reconciliations, while others are still going strong enough to power a small city with pure spite. But one thing’s for sure – as long as you put talented, passionate, and occasionally egomaniacal people together in high-pressure situations, you’re going to get drama that’s better than anything in the actual movies!
