In the anime world, few fighting competitions are as brutal as Yu Yu Hakusho‘s Dark Tournament. The tournament brings together some of the strongest demons in the series, forcing every fighter to push their body, strength, and spirit energy to the limit. By the final rounds, even one mistake can mean death. Now imagine putting the strongest fighters from Jujutsu Kaisen into that arena.

Based on the canon events, several Jujutsu Kaisen characters have powers that could make Yu Yu Hakusho‘s Dark Tournament very different. With that said, these are the eight who have the best chance of winning it.

8 Hajime Kashimo’s Lightning Makes Him A Deadly Opponent

Hajime Kashimo would be a scary opponent in the Dark Tournament. He loves close-range fights and is always looking for a chance to finish his opponent. His cursed energy also has the properties of electricity, making every hit more dangerous.

His fight against Hakari during the Culling Game showed just how tough he is. Kashimo kept attacking even after taking serious damage and came very close to killing Hakari several times. His Mythical Beast Amber makes him even faster and stronger. However, the technique only lasts for a limited time and ultimately costs him his life. That is why he ranks below the other seven.

7 Yuki Tsukumo’s Star Rage Gives Her Crushing Power

Yuki Tsukumo is one of those characters who does not need many tricks to scare an opponent. Her Star Rage technique lets her add virtual mass to herself, making her physical attacks incredibly powerful.

Her fight against Kenjaku showed what that power can do. Yuki was able to land huge blows and keep fighting even after suffering serious injuries. She also used Garuda to make her attacks harder to predict. Yuki has incredible power, but the fighters above her offer more ways to survive and win.

Kinji Hakari may not look like the strongest fighter at first, but that can quickly change once his jackpot starts. When Idle Death Gamble gives him a jackpot, Hakari gets unlimited cursed energy for 4 minutes and 11 seconds.

During his battle with Kashimo, he survived damage that would have ended most fighters. His Reverse Cursed Technique works automatically during the jackpot, allowing him to heal almost instantly. This makes Hakari perfect for a long fight. The problem is that his biggest advantage depends on hitting the jackpot. He also does not have the same destructive power as the characters above him. That keeps him in fifth place.

4 Mahoraga’s Adaptation Makes Every Fight More Dangerous

Mahoraga is one of the hardest opponents to deal with because its greatest strength grows during the fight. The shikigami can adapt to phenomena after experiencing them, making repeated attacks less useful over time.

Sukuna showed just how dangerous Mahoraga was during the Shibuya Incident. Mahoraga adapted to Sukuna’s slashing attacks, forcing him to change his approach and destroy it with a different attack. That ability could be a huge problem in the Dark Tournament. The longer Mahoraga survives, the more dangerous it becomes. Still, it can be destroyed before its adaptation is complete, which is why it stays below Yuta.

3 Yuta Okkotsu’s Rika And Copy Give Him Endless Options

Yuta Okkotsu would have one of the safest paths through the Dark Tournament. He has huge cursed energy reserves, Reverse Cursed Technique, sword skills, Rika, and Copy. More importantly, he can change his fighting style depending on his opponent.

The Culling Game showed how difficult Yuta is to read. His fights against Uro and Ryu in Sendai Colony saw him use several abilities while fighting two powerful opponents. Yuta ranks third because he has an answer for many different situations and has far more options than most fighters in the Dark Tournament.

2 Satoru Gojo’s Infinity Makes Every Demon Attack Pointless

Satoru Gojo might have the biggest advantage of anyone entering the tournament. His Infinity makes it extremely difficult for an opponent to actually touch him.

Gojo also has Blue, Red, Hollow Purple, and Unlimited Void. His fight against Jogo in the early part of the anime showed how easily he could control a battle against a powerful curse. The Shinjuku Showdown later proved that Gojo could fight Sukuna for an extended period while surviving devastating attacks.

Gojo takes second place because his defense is almost impossible to deal with. However, Sukuna’s wider destructive arsenal and ability to overcome Gojo himself give the King of Curses the edge.

1 Ryomen Sukuna Can Tear Through The Dark Tournament

Ryomen Sukuna has almost everything needed to win the Dark Tournament. He is extremely strong, incredibly skilled, difficult to kill, and smart enough to change his approach when a battle gets complicated.

His fight with Mahoraga during the Shibuya Incident showed the terrifying scale of his power. Later, the Shinjuku Showdown pushed him even further. Sukuna fought Gojo, Kashimo, and several other powerful sorcerers while continuing to find ways to survive.

Malevolent Shrine is the biggest reason Sukuna takes the top spot. Gojo may have the better defense, but Sukuna has the better overall package for a tournament. That makes him the strongest pick to win the Dark Tournament.
