Star Wars Zero Company gives every Operator a Specialization, and that single choice helps shape how they perform for the rest of the campaign. There are eight standard options any recruit can take, as well as four Exotic classes that are restricted to specific characters or droid units. Here are all of them ranked, based on how efficient they are and how much each one lifts the rest of the squad.
12 Unrevealed Exotic Class

Anything revolving around this character, including anything about the character or its abilities, is still hidden, and until it’s revealed or discovered by players, it sits last simply because it’s yet to be ranked.
11 Astromech
Astromech | Credit: Bit ReactorThis Exotic class applies to player-built droid recruits rather than a named character, focusing on utility and granting extra Action Points to teammates rather than relying on a primary weapon. It can still damage through grenades and other utility items, but that’s a secondary option rather than its main job.
10 Mandalorian Warrior
Mandalorian Warrior | Credit: Bit ReactorTied to Cly Kullervo, this Exotic class revolves around jetpack mobility and Mandalorian equipment instead of a standard weapon loadout. It ranks below the Jedi Padawan mainly because its kit is less documented, though the mobility it offers is still a valuable asset in the right hands.
9 Jedi Padawan (Wayseeker)
Jedi Padawan | Credit: Bit ReactorThis Exotic class belongs exclusively to Tel-Rea Vokoss and centers on Force abilities that reposition enemies, paired with dual-lightsaber combat. She starts as a Jedi Padawan and later unlocks Wayseeker, a second specialization built on top of that foundation. Because it isn’t available to any other Operator, it’s judged less on where it fits in a lineup and more on the fact that it makes Tel-Rea one of the most distinctive Operators in the game whenever she’s deployed.
8 Assault
Assault | Credit: Bit ReactorThe Assault brings strong mobility and an area-of-effect attack that punishes grouped enemies, making it a solid secondary pick purely for the extra movement it grants. As a primary role, charging into close range without the defensive tools a Heavy has can be a risky habit to build a squad around.
7 Scout
Scout | Credit: Bit ReactorThe Scout generates shared resources that fuel powerful abilities across the whole squad, while also revealing enemies that would otherwise stay hidden. That utility makes it a genuine assist-heavy class, though it lacks the standalone damage or survivability needed to anchor a squad on its own.
6 Gunslinger
Gunslinger | Credit: Bit ReactorThe Gunslinger’s passive grants a flat bonus to critical hit chance on every ranged attack, a small edge that adds up over a mission even when the class is only taken as a secondary Specialization. Weapon chocie is independent of Specialization in Zero Company, so the Gunslinger isn’t locked into pistols the way its name suggests, but it still leans on rapid and repeated attack to make most of its damage-stacking passive.
5 Medic
Medic | Credit: Bit ReactorThe Medic trades personal damage for survivability, and with permanent Operator loss on the table, that trade begins to carry real weight. Beyond healing, it can temporarily boost an ally’s damage output, functioning more like a support-and-buff class than a purely reactive healer.
4 Soldier
Soldier | Credit: Bit ReactorThe soldier is the most flexible generalist in the game, carrying the widest weapon variety of any Specialization, including explosives that can hit multiple enemies at once. It won’t out-tank a Heavy or out-range a Sharpshooter, but it rarely leaves a gap in the squad, making it a dependable, forgiving choice for a first playthrough.
3 Heavy
Heavy | Credit: Bit ReactorThe Heavy earns its ranking through raw durability and free damage. Its standard ability grants stacks of Retaliation, letting it counterattack anyone who hits it for a turn once that ability is active, and its passive health bonus makes the Operator genuinely difficult to bring down. Moreover, that value holds up in almost any role, which makes Heavy a strong pick as either a primary tank or a secondary dip.
2 Sharpshooter
Sharpshooter | Credit: Bit ReactorThis one is built around long-range precision, a playstyle that tends to perform well across the tactics genre since staying at maximum distance avoids wasted movement and keeps the Operator out of harm’s way. It also combines naturally with the Scoundrel, turning a marked target into a guaranteed critical hit from safely across the map.
1 Scoundrel
Scoundrel | Credit: Bit ReactorThe Scoundrel takes the top spot outright. Its opening move exposes an enemy’s defenses for a single Action Point, guaranteeing that the next attack against that target lands as a critical hit, and a follow-up ability lets the Scoundrel assist on the takedown that results.
The class’s own damage is extraordinary, but it consistently makes every other operator on the squad hit harder, whether it’s run as a primary role or picked up later as a secondary Specialization.
