Wuthering Waves 3.3: Hiyuki Materials Pre-Farming Guide

Hiyuki is easily one of the most anticipated characters we’ve had in Wuthering Waves, and she comes out as part of the anniversary patch of Version 3.3. With everyone hyped up and saving their astrites for getting her, one thing that you might be forgetting is her materials. Between ascension, Forte upgrades, and her signature weapon, the total material demand is no joke.

That is exactly why pre-farming matters in gacha games, and Kuro Games’ game is the same. If you are planning to pull for Hiyuki, preparing her materials early can save you a huge amount of time after release. Instead of trying to do everything once she drops, you can focus on preparing beforehand so you don’t have to tackle it all on day 1.

In this guide, we’ll break down all the Hiyuki materials we know so far, including ascension, Forte (skill), and signature weapon requirements, along with the best farming methods.

Hiyuki Ascension, Forte, and Weapon Materials in Wuthering Waves 3.3

Hiyuki’s material requirements can be grouped into three main categories: Ascension Materials, Forte Materials, and Signature Weapon Materials. If you want to fully build her, you should plan for all three rather than only focusing on character levels.

Total materials for Hiyuki

If you are aiming to bring Hiyuki from Level 0 to 90 and fully max her talents, the leaked totals currently point to the following:

It’s a lot of materials to farm, but it becomes much more manageable once you break it down by category.

Hiyuki Ascension materials

Hiyuki’s ascension materials are the first thing you should look at, because these are the easiest to pre-farm. According to the current leaked data, Hiyuki needs:

You will need enemy drops from Exoswarm enemies in Lahai Roi, a boss material from Hiyuki’s overworld boss, and a large amount of local specialty farming. Since her local specialty and the world boss aren’t out yet, you can just prefarm the Exoswarm cores without having to spend any Waveplates.

The Shell Credit cost is also pretty cheap just for ascension, compared to her Forte and weapon expenses, but it still adds up when you combine all upgrade categories. But as mentioned, for the full materials, you’ll have to wait until her regional specialty and boss become available in 3.3.

A useful pre-farming tip: if you already have enough lower-rarity Exoswarm Cores, do not spend all your time trying to get drops for the higher-tier ones. You can just convert them later on once you have enough materials overall.

Hiyuki Forte materials

Hiyuki’s Forte upgrades are where the real grind is. This is where you’ll level her basic attacks, skill chains, liberation, and other combat nodes, so anyone planning to use her seriously should treat this as the highest-priority farming category after ascension.

The weekly boss material is especially important because it is time-gated. You cannot rush it in a single week due to the cap, so this is one of the first things you’ll want to prioritize. Unfortunately, the weekly boss isn’t out yet, so you can’t really prefarm in advance.

The Polarizer materials are where you’ll be spending a ton of Waveplates. Luckily, these materials are pretty easy to farm. You just complete the domain over and over again, and all you really have to do is spend your Wavcplates.

A practical way to think about Hiyuki’s Forte materials is this: if you can build the character but cannot upgrade her Forte, you are only getting part of her value. Forte investment is often what separates a good build from a truly complete one.

Hiyuki Signature weapon materials

If you plan to run Hiyuki with her signature weapon, Frostburn, there are a lot more materials to farm. Her signature weapon requires a separate pendant series and more Forgery Challenge drops.

How to Farm Hiyuki’s Materials Before Version 3.3

Now that you know what to farm in advance, the next step is figuring out where everything comes from and what should be farmed first. A smart pre-farm plan can save you a lot of wasted stamina.

Start with the materials you can already farm

The easiest materials to prepare before Hiyuki arrives are the ones already available in the current game version:

Exoswarm Cores are enemy drops, so you can farm them from overworld enemies such as Sabercat Reaver, Flora Reindeer, Mining Reindeer, Mining Drone, and Flora Drone.

You can also get them as bonus rewards through Forgery Challenges in Lahai-Roi, which makes them a pretty common resource when you are already farming other things.

Wing Polarizers can be farmed through Forgery Challenges, specifically the Fallen Sanctum Forgery Challenge in Etching Plains of Roya Frostlands.You can also get them through Forgery Basic Supply rewards, so if your Waveplates are limited, check whether you already have some passively from other events.

Edelschnee is a local specialty that can be collected in Lahai-Roi, and it also appears in the in-game shop at N.A.N.A. in Startorch Academy – Square. The shop option is especially useful because you can buy up to 15 per week for 3,000 Shell Credits each.

Prioritize time-gated materials first

When pre-farming for a new character, time-gated drops are usually the smartest place to start. For Hiyuki, that means two things: weekly boss materials and the Version 3.3 boss material tied to her ascension.

Unfortunately, her world boss, weekly boss, and local specialty are tied to content that is not yet available in Version 3.2. That means the best move right now is to stockpile everything else, so the moment 3.3 drops, you only need to focus on the new region-specific components.

The best way to approach prefarming in Wuthering Waves is to treat it like a long-term project. Farm what you can now, save what is time-gated, and leave room for Version 3.3’s new materials once they become accessible. That way, you are not bottlenecked by launch day uncertainty.
