Where is Wolf in Gothic 1 Remake?

Wolf is one of the coolest hidden-in-plain-sight NPCs in Gothic 1 Remake. He’s an archery-focused Rogue who lives in the New Camp’s massive cave and quietly sells some of the best early-game bows and training.

While NPCs like Caine need to be found for quests, Wolf is purely for progression and gear. However, that doesn’t mean it’s easy to locate Wolf.

The trick is that he’s tucked away along the upper paths instead of in the obvious central marketplace. It’s easy to walk right past him if you just beeline for Lares and the rice fields.

Where Is Wolf in Gothic 1 Remake?

Wolf is found inside the New Camp out of the three distinct in-game Camps. He’s in the large cave settlement, on the southwest side of the cave. More specifically, he hangs out on the balcony of a hut overlooking part of the inner camp.

Here’s the straightforward and quick route to get to Wolf:

• Enter the New Camp and head into the main cave settlement.

• From the cave entrance, take the right-hand path and follow it until you meet Gorn.

• Don’t drop all the way down to the lower level with the big hole in the middle.

• From Gorn, take the left path that continues straight, not the one that climbs sharply upward.

• Keep following this path until you reach Blade; again, choose the straight path instead of the downward route.

• That straight path leads directly to a hut with a balcony overlooking the cave. Wolf is up on that balcony, usually leaning or sitting there.

Sometimes, instead of being on the balcony, Wolf can be spotted sitting around a fire pit with other bandits. That will be in the same southwest section of the cave. If you take a wrong turn and end up at the firepit area, you’ll still find him there, just a few steps below his usual hut.

Why You Should Visit Wolf

Wolf isn’t just another face in the camp! He’s your go-to archery specialist in the New Camp in Gothic 1 Remake. Here’s why Wolf is useful:

• He sells bows and arrows, giving you better ranged options than most early vendors.

• He can train you in bow skills, making him a key NPC if you’re planning to lean into ranged combat.

• As a Rogue, he also pops up in a couple of dialogue trees and faction routes tied to the New Camp’s storylines.

Keep in mind that Gothic 1 Remake’s early game is pretty brutal up close! Hence, grabbing a decent bow and some archery training from Wolf can make a huge difference in how punishing those first hours feel.

He’s basically the New Camp’s unofficial ranged coach. You just have to know where he’s hiding in that maze of platforms to make use of him.
