The Furious is an upcoming action thriller directed by Kenji Tanigaki. The movie follows Wang Wei, whose life is turned upside down when his daughter is abducted by a child-trafficking ring. After finding little help from the authorities, Wei decides to take matters into his own hands. Along the way, he teams up with Navin, an investigative journalist searching for answers after his wife mysteriously vanished.
The movie stars Xie Miao and Joe Taslim in the lead roles and has already generated quite the buzz following its world premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival. Our FandomWire’s review of the film has rated it a solid 9. Moreover, with strong early reactions, such as a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, and plenty of action-packed sequences, the film is shaping up to be one of the notable action releases of the year.

When Will The Furious Release on Streaming?
As of now, The Furious does not have an official streaming release date. The action thriller is set to open in theaters on June 12, 2026, and its streaming plans have not yet been announced. However, the film is being distributed by Lionsgate in the United States, which gives a clue about when it could arrive on streaming.
Lionsgate has become known for releasing its movies on streaming around four months after their theatrical debut. For example, The Strangers: Chapter 3 became available on streaming roughly four months after opening in theaters. If The Furious follows a similar pattern, it could begin streaming around October 2026.
As for its digital release, recent Lionsgate titles such as Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, The Long Walk, and Michael arrived on digital platforms about a month after their theatrical release. Based on that trend, The Furious could be available to rent or buy digitally in mid-to-late July 2026 for fans to rent or buy the movie.
Will The Furious Be Available On Peacock or Prime Video?
After its digital release, fans will be able to buy or rent The Furious on major digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and other video-on-demand services.
The Furious is expected to stream on Starz following its theatrical run. Though the studios separated in 2025, Lionsgate and Starz have extended their multi-year output agreement (via Variety). Under the deal, Starz will continue to have exclusive first-run pay TV and streaming rights to Lionsgate’s theatrical releases, with movies arriving on the platform soon after their theatrical debut. The Strangers: Chapter 3 arrived on STARZ about four months after its theatrical debut.

However, the situation is not entirely clear. Lionsgate’s 2026 film Greenland 2: Migration debuted on HBO Max instead of STARZ. Lionsgate also has an agreement that brings movies to Peacock during their later Pay 2 window (via Comcast).
Because of these overlapping deals, it is currently uncertain whether The Furious will stream first on STARZ, Prime Video, Peacock, HBO Max, or another platform. More details should become available closer to the film’s streaming release.
