Unlike other vigilantes and superheroes who are driven by hope or responsibility, he entirely operates through grief and rage. The murder of his family has defined every version of his character, from comics to the shows, and not being able to move on is his central tragedy. 

The small-scale presence of The Punisher: One Last Kill could allow Marvel to give Frank the ending he deserves. But at the same time, fans are skeptical and confused because superhero franchises rarely let their popular character disappear forever. 

How The Punisher: One Last Kill Could Affect the MCU At Large

The Punisher was in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, and his story is also connected to Daredevil’s. However, we do not know when the events of The Punisher: One Last Kill occur in the MCU timeline. 

Maybe they want to establish his character more after the Netflix series, because, unlike Daredevil: Born Again, Frank Castle didn’t have a dedicated reboot.
