The 19-year-old man wanted in connection with the gun allegedly used in the murder of Toronto Police Officer Pinizzotto has been arrested and is in custody.
Details are scarce, but sources say Jabbi was detained at Pearson International Airport while allegedly attempting to flee the country. Toronto Police have so far not commented.
But sources tell the Toronto Sun, the man Chief Myron Demkiw said they were looking for in connection with a modern shooting-for-hire terror and intimidation scheme that saw young gunmen making $1,000 per job was arrested overnight — and taping their alleged crimes to ensure they get paid.
Police are expected to update the media on this arrest soon.
Having him in custody means now that all four suspects police were looking for in relation to a shooting-for-hire crime spree that resulted in the shooting of the U.S. Consulate and Jewish schools are in custody.

Jayon Burgher, 18, Sheldon Tracey-Stewart, 18, have been arrested. And Nicholas Bennett, 18, remains in hospital, facing charges for this operation and also for first degree murder in the shooting slaying of Pinizzotto.

In a news release, Toronto Police Service said it “has arrested and charged an outstanding suspect wanted in connection with the shooting at the U.S. Consulate in March 2026. Zara Jabbi, 19, was taken into custody and now faces charges related to the incident.”
Toronto Police said Jabbi is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, discharge of a restricted or a prohibited firearm at a place, attack on premises of internationally protected persons, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.”
