After spending Episode 6 revealing the truth about Gali’s past and how she got entangled in this entire mess, Unconditional Episode 7 returns to the present-day storyline. We see Orna as she gets closer than ever to understanding what really happened to her daughter. The episode picks up shortly after Orna’s confrontation with Russian oligarch Mikhail Antonovitch, who claims to know Gali’s fate but refuses to give her the answers she desperately wants.
Believing the key to the mystery lies in India, Orna and Rita continue their investigation there, searching for Efi and the missing drive connected to the highly sensitive missile guidance system known as Raven. Along the way, Orna uncovers the real motives of nearly everyone around her, including Rita herself, which forces her to steal the drive containing the plans and flee from India. Most importantly, Episode 7 marks a major turning point for Orna as she finally stops seeing Gali as an innocent victim and begins accepting the uncomfortable truth about the life her daughter secretly built.
Why Does Kyril Help Orna?
Kyril in Unconditional | Credits: Apple TVThroughout his appearances in episodes, Kyril has largely appeared as a threatening figure whose primary concern is recovering the stolen technology tied to the Raven project. Yet in Episode 7, he unexpectedly provides Orna with information that helps move her investigation forward.
Whether it is sympathy, guilt, or simple practicality remains unclear, but Kyril tells Orna that she is looking in the wrong place. Instead of focusing entirely on Mikhail and the Russian network, as seen in episode 5, she should be searching for Efi.
According to Kyril, Efi is the missing piece of the puzzle because he was the last known person connected to the drive containing the Raven system data. If Mikhail is still desperately searching for something, it means Efi likely escaped with information valuable enough to threaten powerful governments, intelligence agencies, and criminal organizations alike.
For Orna, the revelation offers a rare lead in an investigation filled with dead ends. More importantly, it confirms that finding Efi may also be the fastest way to finding Gali.
What Do Orna and Rita Find in India?
Rita and Orna | Credits: Apple TVFollowing Kyril’s advice, Orna and Rita begin tracing Efi’s movements through India.
Their first breakthrough comes when they discover financial records showing that money was transferred into a local woman’s account shortly after the events surrounding Efi’s disappearance. The woman appears to know very little, leaving Orna and Rita once again searching for answers. However, another lead emerges through a passenger who remembers finding an injured man matching Efi’s description while traveling toward the airport. The account matches what viewers saw during Episode 6, when Efi survived being shot by Gali and was left bleeding heavily.
Rita’s local contact, Sam, helps push the investigation further. Given the severity of Efi’s injuries, Sam reasons that he must have received medical treatment somewhere nearby.
While following that lead, the episode reveals another major piece of information: the events shown in Episode 6 took place roughly three months before the present-day timeline. This connects the season’s fragmented chronology and explains how so many people have been searching for both Gali and the missing drive for an extended period.
Sam then explains that everything appears connected to Raven, the classified missile guidance system. The software theft, the operation in Mumbai, the kidnapping, and even the death of the engineer involved in the project all seem linked to the same chain of events. For Orna, this is the moment where denial finally disappears. As she pieces the entire series of events together, she begins recognizing that her daughter was not merely caught up in the conspiracy. She may have actively helped create it.
Why Does Rita Help Orna?
Gali in Unconditional | Credits: Apple TVAs Orna gains a clearer picture of Gali’s role in the operation, she also starts questioning Rita’s motives. Since arriving in Moscow, Rita has presented herself as one of the few people genuinely willing to help. Unlike diplomats and embassy officials who repeatedly lied to Orna, Rita pushed investigations forward and opened doors that would otherwise remain inaccessible.
Once Orna understands the significance of Raven, she realizes Israeli intelligence likely has a major stake in recovering the stolen technology. The missile guidance system represents a serious national security issue, making the missing drive far more valuable than Gali herself.
Finding Gali was never necessarily the primary objective for Rita. Rather, locating Gali increased the chances of locating the drive.
Orna Blindsides Rita and Steals the Drive
The episode’s final act delivers the breakthrough both women have been chasing. Returning to the woman whose account received the suspicious payment, Orna and Rita pressure her until she finally reveals the truth. Her son was the person who found Efi injured on the bus and helped transport him to the doctor. Although she cannot tell them where Efi went afterward, she does reveal the location of a suitcase he left behind.
Inside that suitcase lies the object everyone has been searching for: the drive containing the Raven missile guidance system. For Rita, the discovery feels like a victory. She finally has the evidence and technology her superiors desperately wanted recovered. With the drive secured, she believes the mission is essentially complete.
But in celebrating, Rita makes a mistake. She dismisses Orna’s concerns and openly suggests that Orna has been naive throughout the investigation. To Rita, recovering the drive is the priority. She does not care what happens to Gali or Orna thereafter. This conversation becomes the final confirmation for Orna to stop overthinking and only prioritize her motives.
That night, she secretly gives Rita sleeping pills, takes Rita’s passport, steals the drive, and disappears. The decision represents a major transformation for Orna’s character. Earlier in the season, she relied on governments, investigators, and officials to save her daughter. Now she trusts no one.
She understands that if Rita delivers the drive to Israeli intelligence, any chance of using it as leverage with Mikhail may disappear. And if that happens, Gali could remain lost forever.
By the end of Episode 7, Orna is completely alone, carrying the most valuable object in the entire conspiracy. More importantly, she has embraced the same determination that once made Gali so dangerous. Despite learning terrible truths about her daughter, Orna remains committed to bringing her home at any cost.
In many ways, Episode 7 finally explains the meaning behind Unconditional. Orna now knows exactly who Gali is, and she still refuses to give up on her. What do you think will happen in the finale episode of Unconditional?
