Kentaro Miura’s Berserk is the supreme ruler of the Seinen genre, even after the original author passed away. The manga has currently been taken over by Kouji Mori, Miura’s best friend who also happens to be a mangaka. Kouji is the only one who knows the ending to Berserk.

A lot is yet to unfold in the story, and fans are looking forward to the unveiling of some very important details. There are still several characters and concepts yet to be explored in the series, and fans would be mad at Kouji if the significance and backstory of Zodd and God Hand were never revealed.

Berserk is Yet to Reveal Zodd’s Backstory

Zodd is an extremely powerful apostle who has killed thousands of opponents. His entire existence is devoted to combat, and he has the indomitable urge to battle stronger opponents. His ferociousness and mercilessness have left a trail of bodies in his wake. However, Zodd is different than other apostles since he does not eat human flesh, and he isn’t sadistic either. He craves for battle and not the pleasure of torture.

The character also had a long-spanning rivalry with the Skull Knight, something that is yet to be explored. On the other hand, he was made to submit by the incarnated Griffith. But this extremely strong character lacks a proper origin.

The very first detail readers get about Zodd is his indomitable thirst for battle and how he has killed thousands during his centuries of slaughter. However, no one knows where Zodd came from or how he became such a strong apostle. His non-apostle-like tendencies have also not been dug deep into by Kentaro Miura.

Kouji Mori Needs to Develop God Hand More if He Wants to Please Kentaro Miura Fans

The God Hand is a group of five demonkind sovereigns who reign over apostles and are also behind the orchestration of several events that changed the course of mankind. They are so strong that even the strongest apostles would be subservient to them. The God Hand’s essence exists in places where a large concentration of negative human thoughts exist.

However, absolutely no explanation has been given regarding the origin of the God Hand. How did the council begin? How did the members gain such huge amounts of power? Many more questions are lined up regarding the unquestionable authority of the God Hand.

Fans hope that Kentaro Miura had left enough material for Kouji Mori to many ot only create the ending but also the backstories of God Hand, Zodd, and many other characters. Without the backstories of Zodd and God Hand, Berserk would most definitely receive an empty ending.

Berserk is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
