Shanks

SUMMARY

  • God Valley Incident is one of the most ruthless battles in the history of One Piece.
  • However, not much is known about the Incident, except the involvement of Rocks D. Xebec who was looking for his treasure.
  • According to a One Piece theory, this treasure box contained his child who is none other than Buggy the Star Clown.

Among the many battles and wars that have been fought in One Piece, the God Valley Incident is probably the most talked about and mysterious one. It was a major turning point in the history of One Piece as it brought a new dawn to the pirate world and the authority of the World Government and the Celestial Dragons.

Although it is not discussed much in the series, there are certain characters who are still connected to the incident. One of them is Shanks, the longest-running Emperor of the Sea, and another is Figarland Garling, who has recently gained the title of an Elder in the World Government. While it has not been explicitly mentioned, Shanks has some sort of relationship with Figarland Garling.

And according to a One Piece theory, this connection is one of the most crucial elements in figuring out the events of the God Valley Incident, which led to Rocks D. Xebec fighting the World Government and the Roger Pirates together.

The Mystery of God Valley Incident

One of the most ruthless events in the history of One Piece, the God Valley Incident, took place 38 years ago on an island called the God Valley. As the island was not allied with the World Government, the World Nobles decided to hold a Native Hunting Competition on the island.

However, this competition was interrupted by the Rocks Pirates, who, out of the blue, decided to launch an attack on the biggest authority in One Piece. One of the main reasons behind their attack was that the World Nobles stole some kind of treasure from Hachinosu Island, which was the hub of the Rocks Pirates.

As the Rocks Pirates were unleashing hell on the World Government, the Navy, and the Roger Pirates decided to crash the battle and take down Rocks D. Xebec once and for all. Ultimately, they won the battle and took down probably the strongest pirate crew in the history of One Piece. Still, a lot of the details about the battle are a mystery that makes the God Valley Incident enticing.

One Piece Theory Explains What Was in Rocks D. Xebec’s Treasure

According to a theory posted by u/JoyBoy24, the reason Rocks launched an attack on the World Government in God Valley was because the treasure that they stole from Hachinosu had Rocks’ kid inside it. This treasure was being guarded by Captain John, who was also a member of the Rocks Pirates. And the kid inside it was none other than Buggy the Star Clown, one of the most crucial characters in One Piece.

The theory states that Rocks kept his child hidden from the world so that no one could use him as leverage. However, when the World Nobles stole the treasure, they took Buggy with them, who was probably locked inside the chest just like Shanks. This is also the only possible explanation behind Rocks’ insanity of launching an attack on a power as supreme as the Celestial Dragons.

Both Buggy and Shanks have been together since childhood and, in a way, are opposites of each other. While Shanks’ relation with Saint Figarland Garling in One Piece references him being the blood of God, Buggy’s relation with Rocks D. Xebec would mark him as the blood of the Devil. Ultimately, Roger found the treasure of Rocks (Buggy) and the World Government (Shanks) and cared for them as his own.
