Police in Toronto say an attack against a Muslim woman on a Durham region transit bus that was caught on video is under investigation.

In a video shared to social media, the footage appears to show an unseen man shouting on a crowded city bus.

The video was posted on X by the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), who claimed the video took place on a Durham region transit but en route to Ajax from Scarborough.

While the NCCM provided no information on when this video took place, Toronto police told the Sun the incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13.

“This f***ing terror f***s,” the man apparently says in the video, which was censored to remove profanity.

“What the f*** you looking at me for?”

CAUTION: Course language used in the video

A heavy-set brown-skinned man holding a cell phone is then seen entering the frame from the left, who then violently stomps near the legs or feet of the person holding the camera, who, according to the tweet, was a Muslim woman wearing a hijab.

It’s not clear in the video if any contact was made between the man and the woman.

“What the f*** is wrong with you?” a woman is heard saying, ostensibly the person holding the camera.

“You don’t want to hit girls because we’re Muslim, f*** you, go to hell.”

The man is seen in the video retreating to the front of the bus.

“You need to learn that if you can’t respect people, you sit quietly. If you can’t sit quietly, then get off the bus.”

A Toronto police spokesperson told the Sun a report on the alleged attack has been filed, and the TPS Hate Crimes Unit is investigating.

The NCCM says they’re in contact with the alleged victim in the video.

Anybody with information should call Toronto police or Crime Stoppers.
