Residence targeted in Hamilton shooting

Police are probing a shooting and other “targeted” incidents involving a residence in Hamilton’s west end.

Hamilton Police said the first reported incident happened on Sunday at about 3:15 a.m. on Elodia Crt. in the Stone Church-Upper Paradise Rds. area, where a witness spotted a suspicious vehicle stopped in the neighbourhood.

Officers spotted a grey Honda with its lights off when they arrived and arrested a suspect after a brief pursuit. A loaded handgun was also allegedly seized.

Police then received “multiple” 911 calls on Tuesday at about midnight after shots were fired at a residence on Elodia. Officers later found shell casings and multiple bullet holes in the garage door.

A black Honda CR-V with the licence plate DANH 172 was seen fleeing the area after being reported stolen from Peel Region in May.

Police said the occupants of the residence have been co-operating with investigators about these and other related incidents.

Anyone with video footage or other information is asked to contact police at 905-546-4883 or [email protected]. Anonymous tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
