Some rare cars in Forza Horizon 6 are only a few million Credits away. Others require a lot more effort.
Whether it’s a Wheelspin-exclusive vehicle that refuses to drop or a Collection Journal reward locked behind dozens of completed events, a handful of cars stand out as particularly difficult additions to any garage. They aren’t necessarily the most expensive cars in the game, but they are among the least common you’ll see being driven around Japan.
On that note, here are the 10 most difficult cars to unlock in Forza Horizon 6.
10 Apollo Intensa Emozione (2019)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireThe Apollo IE is one of the rarer hypercars in Forza Horizon 6 simply because there is no guaranteed way to obtain it. The car is locked behind Wheelspins, which means you’re entirely at the mercy of RNG unless one happens to show up on the Auction House when you’re actively looking for it there.
Even then, finding one isn’t always easy. Between the car’s striking looks, naturally aspirated V12 soundtrack, and strong road-racing performance, most players who get one tend to keep it.

| Handling | 9.1 |
| Acceleration | 7.7 |
| Launch | 8.4 |
| Braking | 10 |
| Offroad | 4.4 |
9 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento (2011)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireAnother Wheelspin-exclusive entry, the Sesto Elemento remains one of the most desirable Lamborghinis in the game.
Its combination of acceleration, braking, and cornering grip makes it especially effective for road racing. If you’re still trying to get one, our Super Wheelspins farming guide is probably a better use of your time than refreshing Auction House listings all day.
| Speed | 7.8 |
| Handling | 9.7 |
| Acceleration | 10 |
| Launch | 8.9 |
| Braking | 10 |
| Offroad | 5.7 |
8 Nissan GT-R Black Edition (R35) Forza Edition (2012)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireThe GT-R Black Edition FE is arguably the rarest Wheelspin-exclusive Forza Edition car currently available.
Part of that comes down to demand. The car is widely regarded as one of the strongest drag racing options in the game, which means Auction House listings disappear almost immediately whenever one shows up.
| Speed | 10 |
| Handling | 6.6 |
| Acceleration | 10 |
| Launch | 10 |
| Braking | 8.1 |
| Offroad | 5.6 |
7 Subaru Vivio RX-R Forza Edition (1994)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireThe Vivio FE marks the point where our list shifts from luck-based unlocks to outright progression grinds.
To earn it, you’ll need to complete the entire Horizon Life Events page in the Collection Journal by earning all 3,250 available Horizon Festival Points. It’s not the largest checklist in the game, but it is one that many players may simply never finish.
| Speed | 6.3 |
| Handling | 8.7 |
| Acceleration | 5.9 |
| Launch | 6.3 |
| Braking | 9.8 |
| Offroad | 4.2 |
6 Lexus LFA Forza Edition (2010)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireThe Lexus LFA FE is a reward for completing the Touge & Street Racing page in the Discover Japan section of the Collection Journal.
That means finishing every Street Race and Touge event in first place and earning all 7,000 Discover Japan Points available on the page. It’s a lengthy grind, but the reward is one of the best-sounding cars in the entire game (especially from the cockpit view).
| Speed | 8.2 |
| Handling | 9.6 |
| Acceleration | 7.4 |
| Launch | 8 |
| Braking | 10 |
| Offroad | 4.4 |
5 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato (2023)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireUnlike most Lamborghinis, the Huracán Sterrato earns its place on this list through dirt racing.
Unlocking it requires completing the Dirt Racing page of the Collection Journal and earning all 7,610 Horizon Festival Points available there. That means winning every Dirt Racing event in the game at least once. The result is a car that remains surprisingly uncommon despite being one of the more capable off-road exotics in Forza Horizon 6.
| Speed | 7.6 |
| Handling | 5.7 |
| Acceleration | 9.1 |
| Launch | 7.5 |
| Braking | 6.2 |
| Offroad | 7.9 |
4 Lotus Scura Motorsports Exige WTAC (2018)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireThe Exige WTAC is unlocked by completing the entire Road Racing page of the Collection Journal and earning all 9,360 Horizon Festival Points available within it.
That requires winning every road racing event at least once, along with progressing your Wristband far enough to access the races locked behind later progression tiers. It’s a substantial grind, but the reward is the single grippiest car currently available in Forza Horizon 6 and one of our favorite picks for The Goliath race.
| Speed | 6.6 |
| Handling | 9.2 |
| Acceleration | 7.7 |
| Launch | 5.5 |
| Braking | 10 |
| Offroad | 4.3 |
3 BMW M2 Forza Edition (2023)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireUnlike the previous entries, the BMW M2 FE isn’t tied to a single page of the Collection Journal.
Instead, it requires you to reach Horizon Legend Tier 5, which means earning 5,000 of the 10,500 Horizon Legend Points available across the Horizon Festival section. You can optimize this by targeting the easier categories (like performing every Skill in the game at least once) first, but it still requires progress across a large number of different activities.
| Speed | 6.9 |
| Handling | 6.2 |
| Acceleration | 5.4 |
| Launch | 5.7 |
| Braking | 5.8 |
| Offroad | 4.6 |
2 Toyota AE86 Trueno GT-APEX Forza Edition (1985)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireThe AE86 FE is obtainable as another Collection Journal-exclusive reward for reaching Master Explorer Tier 5 in the Discover Japan progression track. Unlike some of the cars above, the challenge here is less about difficulty and more about time investment.
Finally got the Toyota Trueno Forza Edition today and it’s wildby u/Eskel5 in ForzaHorizon
You’ll need to complete 10 of the 16 Discover Japan pages before you can add this Forza Edition version of the Trueno to your garage. The payoff is a car that has become one of the most sought-after vehicles in the game thanks to both its Initial D connections and its absurd tuning potential (don’t let its stock ratings fool you!).
| Speed | 5 |
| Handling | 5.8 |
| Acceleration | 4.5 |
| Launch | 4.6 |
| Braking | 5.5 |
| Offroad | 4.4 |
1 #55 Mazda 787B (1991)
Image Credit: Playground Games/FandomWireThe Mazda 787B tops this list because its Barn Find location is locked behind the Discover Japan Gold Stamp, one of the biggest progression milestones in the game.
You won’t even see the Barn Find rumor until you’ve earned the stamp, which requires extensive progress across the Discover Japan Collection Journal. If you’re specifically chasing the 787B, we’d recommend checking out our dedicated guide covering the most efficient path toward unlocking it.
The grind is substantial, but so is the reward. The 787B remains one of the strongest all-around cars in Forza Horizon 6, combining grip, acceleration, and top speed in a way very few cars can match.
| Speed | 8 |
| Handling | 9.6 |
| Acceleration | 7.9 |
| Launch | 8.5 |
| Braking | 10 |
| Offroad | 4.7 |
