Hammerstone scored a count-out victory on WWE NXT when a shaken Tony D’Angelo suddenly decided to take a walk during their match. Earlier in the night, D’Angelo had pushed for Hammerstone to get a rematch with Oba Femi, but after realizing Femi was a whole different beast, he started to crumble in the ring(via WWE).
After some impressive offense from Hammerstone, D’Angelo just couldn’t take it anymore and walked out, looking defeated. Later, he admitted to his fears about Femi but received a much-needed pep talk from Adriana Rizzo. She reassured him that The Family had his back no matter what, but in a very ‘Sly way‘! How Has CM Punk Not Seen Any Rocky Movies?!
Now, while many have caught on to what Tony D and the family were up to, there’s one person who was definitely present at the NXT arena and completely missed the memo, and that would be CM Punk!
Since his return last year, CM Punk has been quite the fixture in NXT, making his presence felt with every appearance. This time around, it was announced that he would serve as the special referee for the match between Trick Williams and Ethan Page. And things got heated, Punk was practically cheering and encouraging them to have a brawl towards the end of the match! But that’s a whole different story for another time!
This revelation came last year when Punk took to Instagram to address some reports about his behavior during his AEW days. In a since-deleted story, he shared his side of the saga that led to a squash match loss against Jon Moxley.
Amidst all the drama, he dropped a bombshell, “I sat and listened to moxleys Rocky three idea. I explained how I’d never seen a Rocky movie.” Rocky movies were practically on a loop on cable every other weekend throughout the ’90s and 2000s. How he managed to dodge them completely is something that fans can’t wrap their had around still.
