The Witcher Season 4 concludes with a devastating note, especially for Ciri (Freya Allan) and her romantic partner Mistle. Season 4, released today on October 30, 2025, on Netflix. This season also continued the epic saga of Geralt (Liam Hemsworth), Ciri, and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). Season 4 follows Ciri, who takes on a new identity as “Falka” and joins a teenage group of criminals known as the Rats.
Meanwhile, Geralt and Yennefer embark on a separate journey to rescue Ciri. She trains, fights, and begins to embrace the darker side of herself while living among them. But her new life doesn’t last long.
At the end of season 4, bounty hunter Leo Bonhart sets a trap for the Rats. After learning that her friends lied and Bonhart had set a trap, she immediately rushed back. Bonhart hunts down the Rats and kills them one by one. Ciri arrives too late to save them. Even she failed to battle against Bonhart. She is tied to a pillar and forced to watch Mistle beheaded. Though Ciri survives, she is captured, leaving her at the mercy of Bonhart.
Meanwhile, Geralt travels with his companions, Jaskier, Cahir, and Zoltan, as part of the Hansa. They are on their way to find Ciri before Nilfgaard’s forces do. The group journeys toward Caed Dhu, where druids can use the power of the equinox to locate her. Along the way, they get caught in the war between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms.

The Witcher season 4 ends with Ciri captured, Mistle dead, and Geralt knighted. The ending sets up the final season’s showdown.
What’s Ahead for Geralt After Being Knighted by Queen Meve in The Witcher Season 4?
Geralt travels toward Nilfgaard with Jaskier, Milva, and is later joined by Zoltan, Yarpen, Regis, and Cahir. They fight through various battles, and it ultimately leads them into the Battle for the Bridge on the Yaruga, where he fights alongside Queen Meve of Rivia.
Geralt leads the Northern army in the battle. Their victory secures Queen Meve’s safe escape. Meve knights him as a reward. But this new honor comes at a cost. As a knight, Geralt must obey Meve’s orders and serve her kingdom at any cost.
This creates a major obstacle in his search for Ciri. In the books, Queen Meve’s refusal to find the Druids forces Geralt to find ways around his duties to continue his personal mission.
The knighthood also adds irony to Geralt’s story. For years, he called himself “Geralt of Rivia” although he’s not from that country. But now it’s an official title, yet it limits his independence. Meanwhile, Emperor Emhyr sets a deadly plan in motion. He released a monster marked with Renfri’s brooch to track Geralt’s scent and kill him.
How Is Nimue Connected to Ciri in The Witcher Season 4?
Liam Hemsworth in a still from The Witcher Season 4 | Credit: NetflixNimue and Stribog are introduced at the beginning of Season 4 in Yaruga, about 100 years after the series’ central events. Stribog is a storyteller, and Nimue grows up fascinated by the tales of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri. By the season finale, she is all grown up and begins her training as a mage at Aretuza.
Nimue senses that her destiny is tied to Ciri, which actually aligns with the Witcher books. She will later help Ciri control her ability to portal through time and space. Nimue becomes a powerful figure known as The Lady of the Lake. She will probably help Ciri unlock her powers in Season 5.
Elsewhere, Yennefer recovers from the battle at Montecalvo and uses a portal to reach Vilgefortz’s stronghold at Stygga Castle. Vilgefortz, though wounded, escapes and continues to draw power from other mages. He will remain a significant threat in season 5. Emhyr remains determined to find Ciri. He’s still unaware that Bonhart already has her.
The Witcher Season 4 ends with multiple cliffhangers. All characters are on paths that lead toward Stygga Castle, where Season 5 will likely deliver the final battles.
Will Ciri escape Bonhart? Can Geralt fulfill his duty as a Knight and rescue Ciri? Can Season 5 answer these questions? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
