The creator and director of 'Euphoria',Sam Levinson, does not share the criticism that some people have poured on the third season of the series, which premiered on April 13. This is all due to the plot of Sydney Sweeney's character, Cassie, who opens an OnlyFans account, publishing explicit content.
The actress can be seen dressed as a dog or baby, which many believe crosses the line of what can be broadcast, as well as criticising Sweeney for agreeing to film such scenes.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Levinson explained: "Cassie has her booth, her ears and her nose, and that's got its own touch of humor, but what makes the scene so funny is that her housekeeper is the one filming her".
"What we always wanted to find is that other layer of absurdity that we can incorporate so that we're not too caught up in their fantasy or illusion. The fun is in jumping, in breaking the wall," he continued.
Together with the show's cinematographer, Marcell Rev, they thought very carefully about the shots chosen: "Logically, we would have chosen something modern, simple and elegant, but in the end we went for this mid-century house, which is a bit cheesy, but at the same time seems to be anchored in the 70s. It's probably a strange choice, but it also opens up a lot of possibilities for us."
Sam Levinson, creator and director of 'Euphoria': "Our motto is: Evolve or die"
"OnlyFans has its own aesthetic and how to elevate that aesthetic to the aesthetic of the show is a challenge, I'm not going to lie," he said. "Some of these scenes we lit solely with the ring lights that she used. When you're inside, it's a beautiful, bright front light, but then you go out and there's just a puddle of light and everything around it is dark. It's just unpleasant and shocking," he said of the scenes.
"We wanted to capture what she is trying to show the public and be inside it, but also step back a bit and see how depressing it is. Our motto is: Evolve or die. We wanted to make sure we were changing things up," this decision seems to have been successful, after the debate generated on social networks.
"We're seeing them in the outside world, in a wider environment, and allowing the actors to communicate emotionally through their performance, unlike in the past, when we did it more through the camera. We wanted to see them stand on their own two feet," he said.
