However, the manga’s online release schedule is more structured, with new chapters being released strictly on the 25th of every month.

Everything to Know About The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao’s Notes & The Apothecary Diaries: Xiaolan’s Story

Soon after the release of the official The Apothecary Diaries manga, a spin-off titled The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao’s Notes on the Inner Palace was released on August 19, 2017. The story follows little anecdotes of Maomao’s interactions with other characters from the series, providing fans with further insight into this beloved character. That said, the spin-off is also published on a monthly basis, with new chapters releasing around the 19th of every month. However, as of now, there’s no online platform available to read it in English. Still, you can turn to its physical volumes, which are being released in English in 2026.

Other than Maomao’s Notes, another The Apothecary Diaries spin-off manga started publishing last year, titled The Apothecary Diaries: Xiaolan’s Story, which focuses on one of the series’ most wholesome supporting characters and Maomao’s close friend, Xiaolan herself.
