Marshals, Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone spin-off, has officially made history as broadcast television’s #1 scripted show. Marshals, with two seasons to its name, follows Kayce Dutton as he joins an elite unit of the U.S. Marshals to bring range justice to Montana.
Starring Luke Grimes in the leading role, the program is currently the most-watched scripted broadcast television show (per THR), with a total of 8.21 million viewers as of October 11, 2026. Ahead of Marshals are the reality TV shows 60 Minutes, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football, with 10.2, 19.5, and 22.59 million viewers, respectively.
This officially makes Taylor Sheridan’s universe’s spin-off, Marshals, the most-viewed scripted broadcast television show, and he’s not carrying the heavy lifting alone.

Both shows follow a similar theme of a protagonist joining law enforcement and assisting them in carrying out their tasks. In Marshals, Kayce Dutton protects Montana, while in Tracker, Colter Shaw helps private citizens and law enforcement officers in exchange for reward money.
With Marshal being the #1 scripted show on broadcast TV, Tracker comes in second position and overall 8th position with a total of 7 million viewers to its name. Marshals is 1.21 million viewers ahead of the 2024 TV show.
Taylor Sheridan’s Biggest Hit of 2026 Isn’t a Show He Wrote

The March debut drew 9.52 million viewers, the biggest launch for a new scripted series without a football lead-in since Yellowstone itself. Although an impressive debut, the spin-off continued to maintain its viewership.
Although critics on Rotten Tomatoes scored the show at 48%, CBS renewed it before the first season finished airing. The second season of Marshals is currently airing, with the second episode released today. It is expected that the show will carry on with its strong viewership for the second season as well.
