In a release, police said a woman was walking on a paved pathway pushing a child in a stroller in the area of Truro Street and Carpenter Way, near the Aviation Parkway, when she was approached by a man.

“The suspect, who was armed with a knife, sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing the area,” police reported in the release.

The victim was transported to hospital, where “she is receiving support,” police said in a release.

The suspect is described as English-speaking Caucasian, approximately 40 years old, with a dark beard and medium build.

He was wearing a black hoodie with front pockets and brown shoulders and sleeves, with faded blue jeans and brown tennis-style shoes.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of Truro Street and Carpenter Way at approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday to contact police.

Detectives are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or who has dashcam, doorbell, or security camera footage from the area.
