Headed by Anthony Gallegos, the Creative Director for Subnautica 2, the game’s EA Version 1.1 comes out with the following updates tomorrow, majorly led by changes that were promised earlier on the roadmap.

  • New Biomods: There will now be more biolabs made available in the early game for players.
  • New Tool: There is a new upcoming tool that players will be able to use for scanning creatures, further unlocking more biomods.
  • Creature Flinch: Upon being hit with the Survival Multi-Tool, most of the creatures in-game will now respond with a flinch mechanic before they start fleeing.
  • Sonic Resonator Stun: Players will also now be able to use the Sonic Resonator to stun a few of the creatures in the game.
  • Blight Creature Rework: Instead of throwing the player into a state of shock when they are attacked out of nowhere, Blight Creatures near Angel Combs now have a better animation to help alert the player and not jump scare them.
  • Wreck Rework: Wrecks in Subnautica 2 have been reworked, with the most major hauls being visual.
  • Updated PDA Logs: A changed UI will now let players have better control of what is actually being played as they play the game, including a playback system where they can voluntarily play an audio recording.
  • New Personal Storage: A new buildable that players will be able to place in their base. It won’t be connected to fabricators and processors by default.
