Just four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home shattered the box office with $1.9 billion globally (via Box Office Mojo as of June 19, 2026), Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is doing it again before even hitting theaters. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already broken presale records, pulling in the biggest first-day U.S. ticket sales in five years and becoming 2026’s top preseller so far, as per Deadline. 

This isn’t just hype. It’s proof that the web-slinger still dominates Hollywood. With a four-year gap since the last solo film and a story that continues Peter Parker’s journey after his identity was erased, the pressure was massive. But presales are showing that audiences are ready to swing back into action.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Presale Performs Best in Five Years

Tickets for Spider-Man: Brand New Day went on sale recently, and the response was immediate. Within hours, presales on Fandango and AMC outpaced every major studio release since Spider-Man: No Way Home, though Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’s $37M first-day non-studio record remains ahead of it. The only film ahead of it in first-day presales is No Way Home itself, which amassed around $78 million in advance ticket sales before its December 2021 release (via Deadline).

Brand New Day’s presale momentum already exceeds the early tracking of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), which went on to open to $187.4 million domestically (via Box Office Mojo). The film ranks as the biggest first-day presale launch for a studio film in the post-pandemic era behind No Way Home, and sits behind Endgame ($50M) and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour ($37M) in the all-time chart

With Brand New Day following a four-year gap since that film’s emotionally charged finale, fans are clearly ready to reclaim their Spider-Man fix. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film is the 38th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the second film of Phase Six. It continues the story after No Way Home, where Peter Parker erased himself from everyone’s memories, including MJ, played by Zendaya, who is confirmed to return

If presales translate to box office, Brand New Day could be one of the summer’s biggest hits. The film opens just two weeks after Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, adding another blockbuster to an already packed July.
